dryslot
GFS ens members moved NW a lot for a 12 hour period, more importantly they show better earlier development. If they did the same in 12 hrs, Bobby will be able to post SREFS for his backyard. Waiting and watching.

powderfreak
Last event did have good ratios though....inverted trough events with very cold temps usually have good ratios because the lift is fairly low and right in the snow growth region. I think I had like an inch out of 0.05 of qpf. Yeah, I meant like the reasoning was being given that it was really cold at the surface so it would be fluffy snow. Not because the lift is low in the snow growth region. Its like assuming ratios will be good because your driveway was nice and cold last night. ORH_wxman
Yeah, I meant like the reasoning was being given that it was really cold at the surface so it would be fluffy snow. Not because the lift is low in the snow growth region. Its like assuming ratios will be good because your driveway was nice and cold last night. Yeah def...I agree with that. I was just pointing out that it actually would have worked out using that logic in last event, lol. Dec 13, 2007 I think had most of the snow falling in the upper teens but we had standard 10 to 1 type ratios ebcause of cruddy snowgrowth, despite it just pouring snow the whole time. Baroclinic Zone
SREFS had me at 4, how was your 3-5? Got 2". Should have stuck with my original 2-4" call rather than jumping on the 18z train.

Clinch Leatherwood
Euro QPF is east this run. It's a "hit" for SE/E areas with the caveats of dry air. Coating to 2" here is a good bet.

Clinch Leatherwood
Cya next week GEFS/NCEP will overshoot more than likely. We'll have a run, or maybe the 12z was the run that's well too far NW. Euro shifted SE as did all other guidance not the GFS. LOL on this pattern. "Mild" and wetter, cold and suppressed, AIT.
