I was in la but I recall departing in late December during a major pacific storm on the west coast to a torch on the east coast. Big turnaround Inauguration Day for Reagan's second term. Clinch Leatherwood
I gotta give messenger credit for stamina, He's been posting non stop for the better part of 3 days, I spent 15 hours skiing 2 of the last 3 days and went to bed early last night during the height of the flizzard. I wouldn't call the 0z GFS an improvement.

Clinch Leatherwood
While skiing too. Yeah was too cold both days to ski non-stop, frequent quick stops in the lodges. Averaged about 15 miles a day per Ski Tracks, not bad with little ones. Boston has less snow than it did a year ago. See the pattern really is different. Phil has had a couple of good events. Let's revisit all these at the end of the season. Awesome about skiing, good time every time .
Clinch Leatherwood
Boston has almost as much snow as Florida this year, that is sad. Florida doesn't have as much wintry appeal though. So that's every model that's come out has gotten worse on a rolling basis. The trend is not our friend.

CoastalWx
that year worked out from a combo of the H5 heights and timing. Just because a pattern looks like that does not mean it delivers like that.
Clinch Leatherwood
Wrong direction from us guidance. Crazy uncle looks to deliver us a nice event Saturday? image.jpg Jerry the only thing I wonder is if we're seeing the models lose one situation in favor of another like has happened with some famous cases over the years. IE, maybe it isn't the first wave that develops. That's the only thing I can see changing, because that s/w is smooshed as modeled by everything right now and is NBD. weathafella
Conventional wisdom is if it gets cold, snow will come. Ultimately the bottom line is we have been in a predominantly dry pattern for a long time with minor wet incursions.
