weathafella
There's nothing quite like having good cold air to work with. It's an important fact that's ignored far too often....sometimes by me despite 66 winters.....

Chrisrotary12
My #15 analogue from yesterday has moved. All the way up to #2! http://www.eas.slu.edu/CIPS/ANALOG/thumbnails.php?reg=EC&fhr=F120&model=GFS212&map=COOP%20SNOW&sort=FINAL I like where this is going. So far. powderfreak
But in the back of your mind.............. I dunno... read the first page of the thread, you can sort of see the suppression coming from a mile away. When its -30C at H85 up here, its going to take some real work to get a low far enough north for NNE. Of course I'm hoping it comes far enough north, but my operational forecasting side has always had this as a SNE event. No one at the ski area thinks they are getting a snowstorm on Fri/Sat, let me put it that way, lol. This is one of those rare (now-in-days at least, haha) cold snowstorms in SNE right to the coast. If there was ever a time for it, climo for late January is the time, lol.
powderfreak
since when do people care about the ggem? it's overdone most of the time Earlier in the winter I was told by ORH and others that the GGEM has about the same skill as the GFS out at that range. powderfreak
South coast. Lol In any case that's a heckuva snow bomb on cmc. Not sure about a snow bomb, but looks like <1.0" QPF and fast moving, but verbatim that's a nice 6-10 incher in 12-14 hours. I hope this works out nicely for the BOS crowd...its pretty rough to watch each one find a way to implode. Actually I bet 6-10" would feel like a KU after last winter and this winter so far. wxeyeNH
Still a good spot for it at d4-5 How's it looking for up here? Just looking at the GFS last few runs it seems a SNE storm. Boy we need snow just to get the snowmobile trails open!
