WxKnurd Posted January 17, 2013 Share Posted January 17, 2013 Winds began picking up in the Hickory area after one while I was up there and now that I'm back home NW of KCLT the winds remain steady and gusty and rain is picking up. Temps are in the mid 40's and dropping around here after being around 50 when I left around noon. Hoping for the best but any north wobble could put my area out of the running, going to be close. Elevation dependent right now, and I think it will take awhile to work its way down to 2200 feet. My wife did hear thunder in the west part of town. But it was the regular kind, with rain.
