RIC Airport
What's the accumulation there so far? Any sticking to the streets yet? Just sticking to cold surfaces so far...at least here in the city. When the rates decrease, sticking isn't so well....it needs to get a bit colder, but its only been 90 mins since the start. RIC_WX
Historically speaking, if RIC is on the northern fringe of a nice snowfall, the DC area cashes in a week or so later with a more significant event where RIC is mainly shafted. I predict this will be a case of delayed rather than denied. Meanwhile, congrats to the CVA crew...

So maybe a dusting on grass and mulch and lots of melting. NOVa folks not missing out on much at all

I would not give up hope yet for accum.
CoastalWx
You can go on twisderdata and check out the instability near and esp south of RIC. The sounding above 600mb is conditionally unstable.
JB Fins
Yeah, my accumulation about the same as it was during the thundersnow, even though I am showing 32 the ground temp is taking a lot of fun out of this. Still snowing but it needed to stay at the rates we saw from 5:30 to 7:00 for us to be able to sniff that 5 inches. But, hey, what we lack for accumulation in this event, it made up for with the most thundersnow in an event around here since December 2005. weathervswife
DC crew didn't miss much. Things are winding down for me with a little over an inch and a half. Of course 4-8 was predicted as late as this evening's forecast. Not sure what happened. I think rain ate up a lot of the qpf but things just never got going. Never saw any really heavy rates. Oh well at least I didn't track this for a week or more just to get this.

Kevin Druff
Should accumulate better as time goes by. If the north edge doesn't collapse south of me too quickly. Getting a little close for comfort.
Jebman
No your not. U wanted Richmond to bust just like I did Richmond gets busted far more than we do up here in north VA. So, I guess I am pretty happy for them. The only thing I regret is that they did not get raked with a foot of fresh snow

CoastalWx
3/4" underneath melting is a killer these are awesome rates though The top ground layer should cool quickly. If your temp drops to near 32 you should be ok. Is the vis low? Wondering if you just have massive aggregates falling meaning lower 1000' or so Is still warm. mcg1999
Primary roads still OK, but the subdivision roads are covered. Really coming down now after that last flash of lighting. Only question left is when do they cancel Schools.
