weatherwiz
It's a storm fringing the cape, does it really sound right to call it snow showers Well if your an ocean animal I agree but if it's giving the Cape just snow showers/heavier snow showers what else do you call it lol. SR Airglow
After GFS gaining more confidence in a coating here, and that will be all. Final call a coating for MBY. Good luck to all on the cape and elsewhere. -skisheep
dendrite
Which can sometimes be sn+Sure, but I think this looks steadier for the Cape. I don't think of snow showers adding up to multiple inches outside of squalls.

Still so many things that can go wrong Scott. Horror show. RAP is probably ramping up even more than the 12z Euro but in doing so it's a super tight cutoff. Cold Miser
Ryan's boss on board @BradNBCCT: southern USA snowstorm grazing parts of CT tonight...southern & eastern CT might get a coating to 1" after midnight, ending by daybreak... Not exactly shovel worthy for any of those areas, let alone Tolland.

TalcottWx
I think the cape might see 4-6" in these snow showers? Should BOX word the event as a squall?
eduggs
http://www.mattnoyes.net/.a/6a00d83451c01c69e2017ee791a63a970d-500wi That gradient is almost certainly too constant, i.e., the width of each interval is too similar. As usual, the cutoff is likely to be sharper than that graphic depicts. But the magnitude of snowfall seems reasonable.

Typhoon Tip
Wouldn't it be funny if rained on the Cape and snowed in interior SNE in the biggest positive bust ever ? wuh wuh wuhhhhh
Baroclinic Zone
If this somehow gave me 1-2" I'll know why, so it would be interesting to learn from. I'm not so intrigued by the outcome(snowfall) as much as I am to the over evolution. Always interesting when you have a closed 500mb ull traveling south of the region. Again, this all comes to expectations and if one expects a full blown snowstorm out of this they are setting themselves up for disappointment. I think the maps/forecasts given by most are reasonable. That being said, I think I can eek out 1" out of this.
weatherwiz
Well I used the term snow showers to describe my thoughts on what would happen if they saw anything. Never said or thought they would see steadier snowfall nor much accumulations outside of a coating.

Baroclinic Zone
The more I look at this, the more I think that the precip generated over my area is from the northern stream interaction with the southern stream. Inverted trough type of stuff. The stuff over CC is more associated with the southern stream system.
