Parsley
Tombo (or anyone with access), if you have a chance, throw up a skewt off the NAM for PTW for sometime overnight tonight.
tombo82685
you guys look good for some snow. I'm right on the edge of that 1-2. Im expecting some sleet definitely with possibly some snow. Mt holly's forecast of around an inch for me seems solid.

Ukt looks more like sleet over to rain. So the boundry is between ptw and rdg and ukt and abe hr 27 hr 30 hr33

Parsley
Thanks for soundings Tombo. Based on what I had time to look at earlier I was thinking a cold rain at 33-34 degrees for the most part for the PTW area/422 corridor. Hopefully that thinking busts like my weekend warmth thread

tombo82685
I don't have actual airport atmosphere levels, but it looks like the models are a little warmer in the mid levels than what is actually occuring. Below is the nam for 12z today note the 850 0 line. Basically cuts from rdg - abe on it. Though, the time stamp on the spc map is 1 hr after, so it may be closer than thought. Now here is the latest spc off the RAP of the current 850 temperatures.
NaoPos
NAM @ 21 looks icy (zr)for Far NW motgo, extreme NE chesco.. thats where the surface 0 line sits @ 21. 925 temps are on the lower sides of bucks, montgo, chesco, so maybe some sleet for them? tombo82685
nam just came in a lot colder at the surface, keeps ukt and ptw below freezing majority of the time. The mid levels are warmer which is usually expected.
NaoPos
hmm, @ 24, its actually dips the surface 0 line into central montgo, bucks, ne chesco... could be looking at z rain for some areas in in those counties and NW according to the NAM. NaoPos
@ 27, mostly every changes over south reading /pottstown... 12z NAM was warmer at the mid levels, but colder @ the surface compared to 0z & 6z NAM.
Parsley
Yeah, looks a touch colder on the 12z run at the surface. Sleet/Freezing rain somewhere up that way probably off that depiction.
tombo82685
not sure i believe the nam being that cold. It has almost .75 of sleet and frz, with majority of that frz rain for the ptw-ukt corridor
chubbs
Looks like NAM started with 850s pretty close to the map posted above in SE pa. Good snows for those that get it and a strip of ice further SE.

I also keep forgetting the airport for the soundings isn't in the city of pottstown, its down by limerick. Pottstown actually has an airport just on the western fringe of the city. tombo82685
it just shows you how bad those maps are. No way do soundings represent that anywhere besides the pocs.
