mattb65
Makes sense. Both struggle with 2m temps. If you blend the KFS and GFS 2m temps they're usually pretty good.

CoastalWx
Inv troughs always have super VVs. This one doesn't look special or anything...seems like your classic inv trough.

N. OF PIKE
Now that's a tease from the descriptions I heard that's prob the 4km btv, 12km btv is less of a tease and more a ball buster for bos. I don't think an image of 12km btv wrf was posted thou?
Zeus
Damn....within 10 miles of 0.5 contour. That map suggests metro boston is solidly 3-6. I think 2-5 would be my BOS forecast at this point in time. Bump to 4-8 if we get into the sweet spot for a decent chunk of time this evening. TalcottWx
Generally -10 to -20 C, but sweet spot is really -12 to -18 C. Thank you
weatherMA
Makes sense. Both struggle with 2m temps. Anyway, the 16z RAP absolutely destroys E MA .5- .7 for most inside 128, and up to 1"+ on the cape. Even brings .4 or so to ORH. Verbatim its a 6-12 warning snowfall on the coast with lollies of 14-15 in SE mass. Probably a 4-6 event back to ORH and west.
wxsniss
Damn....within 10 miles of 0.5 contour. That map suggests metro boston is solidly 3-6. I'm back post-Patriots depression. Yeah looks like we're sitting right in between the 2 prongs on most meso models... Our best shot at higher bust in Boston metro is if meso low sets up more south, which MM5 last night hinted at... I'm waiting on the 12z MM5 run to post that, not that it is any better than our other hi-res models. Otherwise we're in subsidence zone, but still make out with 2-4". HoarfrostHubb
I could see BOS scoring a 6"+. Very poofy
N. OF PIKE
I'd go with 12km btv wrf (I.e bos screwzone) esp if 12z hrrr-arw agrees
TalcottWx
I'm expecting 2-4". Eye's towards nowcasting for a bust higher.

SR Airglow
Not surprisingly this is turning into a solid advisory event for all of SNE So you actually think that LL and I are getting an advisory event? Supported by what aside from wishful thinking? Would love to be proved wrong but have a feeling this is going to bust bigtime for me. -skisheep

CT Rain
Well it will be in the beginning but I agree. Yeah QG forcing/synoptic lift peaks over SNE from 21z-03z and then the mesoscale magic goes to work.

Jerry - there was an epic mini-blizzard that crushed Boston....I remember you and hooralph/Jeff did play-by-play for it....I believe it was a WINDEX event. Hooralph posted some incredible pics, it hit I think on a Friday during the evening rush causing all kinds of traffic havoc, and I can't remember if it was 2005 or 2007. Do you or anyone else remember this? If so, will this event be like that?
