Heading south to northern Indiana for a quick visit and passing thru kalkaska....a little surprised by the difference in depth here. Only 8-10" of new snow fell. Low considering the snow capital they are usually.areas closer to the lake definitely did better this event. Looks like a snowy trip all the to the Indiana line. Temp has gone as low as -12 in the valleys by mancelona.

Passing thru Grand Rapids. Far north side barely an inch on the ground, far south side has upwards of 6".

I noticed that.  The sharp cutoff goes pretty much right through the city.  Living on the NE side of town it's so frustrating seeing places just 15-20 miles SW always getting double or triple the totals I see.  Always happens with NW flow events.  The shape of the lake is such that it creates a screw-zone for the inland county areas north of US 96 and south of RT 10.

It was weird yesterday evening when the bands briefly pushed north ushering in an hour or so of moderate snow.  The temperature spiked up to near 20 degrees and it felt almost balmy in comparison.  Then it went back south and it immediately dropped back into the lower teens.
