The past 22 or whatever months have been insane.

Starting Friday, hopefully that will all change.

Central Park nyc has not dropped below freezing for over 9 days in the heart of winter, to me, thats simply insane.

 

It's not that crazy. They had an 11 day streak last winter, a 9 day streak in 2008, a 10 day streak in 2006, a 14 day streak to start out Jan 2005, a 12 day streak in 2002, and 3 such streaks in the '90s. It's roughly a once every 3 years event, at least in the last couple of decades.

Man that's a nutty stat in KNYC. Even BOS managed to go AOB freezing every day this month except 1/10, 1/12, and of course today 1/13.

hey neighbor. Nice Pic. Yea are holding on fairly well. I have 38 on the BJ's special temp guage. Hopefully tomorrow is similar.

 

Yeah, this neighborhood holds the cold.   2+ weeks of solid snow cover now.

 

Going forward I think we see a decent winter out here over the next 8- 10 weeks.

Northfield Mt recreation area?  Nice place.   When the power resevoir at the top is drained it's surreal, looks like a UFO base. lol

 

They should still have snow on the trails next week.

Yeah, they go each year. The power station is very cool. We used to do work there at my old company.

Yeah no kidding. Was just thinking that. There are some GEFS members at 18z that have something in the Friday/Saturday time frame. Wouldn't that be something if we could somehow threat that needle.

Snowpack is taking a beating, but there's still a few inches. Pretty big difference between here and CON temp wise (35 vs 43). This is some of the thickest fog I've ever seen. It legitimately qualifies for 0SM in spots.

Lol...it goes bonkers with the Wed system. In fatc it goes so nuts that it actually flips it to sleet here for a time it looks like.
