Clinch Leatherwood
Lets be honest lol, outside of a couple days to start the month the entire winter has been a torch I mean December was well above normal lol, in some cases around the northeast record breaking. However, there was snow in December and obviously even in the warmest winter torch you can always get snow, and thats all that matters and all that anyone cares about, so the idea of a thaw outside the mountains is kind of laughable to be honest, especially when you look at the numbers and facts. Snow cures all. All I'm saying is the "Debbie downers" were much more correct than the cold misers with regards to the January pattern through at least the end of this week (majority of January so far) so were they really being downers or where they just discussing the actual weather? And you are right, call it whatever we like the two winter months have been largely above normal. This torch is actually WORSE than last year at this time (for this past week or so). That's how jaded we are, our perceptions have changed. I'd have bet this torch didn't compare to last year for this time period, I'm wrong (data from the NWS TAN site, for station Boston) Yesterday +12 and +4 over last year 1/11 +7 and +3 over last year 1/10 +12 and +2 over last year 1/9 +8 and +4 over last year 1/8 +8 and -1 from last year 1/7 +5 and -11 from last year 1/6 +7 and -2 from last year 1/5 +5 and +3 over last year 1/4 0 and + 11 over last year We're about to change patterns again. There's no doubt about that. What comes after is still up for debate, and that's what this place is all about right?
Allsnow
Yeah...it's been warm overall for awhile. As weather lovers, this has been an amazing and tremendous stretch. It doesn't get much better than watching dense fog slowly eat away snow with 30s/30s or 40s/40s day after day. This is the extreme weather we live to experience. I had to pinch myself this morning to make sure it was all real. Lmao sig worthy. He is on repeat
Clinch Leatherwood
Lol the pattern has obviously got to you. The banter has gotten to me, not the pattern. I want it to snow in SNE just as much as everyone else and am looking forward to a refreeze.
Logan11
Snow is the ultimate arbiter for the wx weenie. Those of us that have had snow cover since around 12/22 have a much more positive spin on this period. Last week was a torch even here (comparatively speaking), but I held the snow all week and could do my daily snow shoeing so I didn't much care. I think I come out of this with 2 to 3 inches of frozen concrete in the woods circa tomorrow night, but probably ended my snow shoeing for now. All I'm saying is the "Debbie downers" were much more correct with regards to the January pattern through at least the end of this week (majority of January so far) so were they really being downers or where they just discussing the actual weather? And you are right, call it whatever we like the two winter months have been largely above normal. This torch is actually WORSE than last year at this time (for this past week or so). HoarfrostHubb
It is all Litchfield Libations and Cweat's fault that it is warm and snowless...they did it they did it...
CoastalWx
This is going to come down to people's definition of epic. Epic is a stretch like Jan 2011, Jan 2005, Jan and Feb 94...etc. A 3-6" deal followed by a 4-8" deal 6 days later to me is not epic. While I like some of these features that are classic for great stretches, I'm not sold on an epic stretch....however it should provide a period for snow chances....and not just climo either. I certainly see how it could be an awesome stretch..the potential is there...just not sold yet.
Damage In Tolland
I need Kev to take a pic Mon AM. Can not wait for Messenger to post how many inches of analogs he has shoveled. I made a great animated GIF of all the analog dates,,but they do not work here anymore, classic I mean classic loading pattern. Your constant feature is there everytime. If we miss a big storm in the next three weeks it's pure crap luck and I will go back and join Scooter on the dark side. Will be long gone. Patches of grass appearing in a few spots now 2-4 left..bye bye
#NoPoles
well at least the pattern of having everything continually pushed back has been consistent...a week ago forecast high of 17 for Friday, then it went to 27, and now its 40. Gotta love the consistency.
dendrite
Why the sarcasm? This weather sucks monkey ****, and nobody is saying anything different, but its still weather. Well this is a forum of winter snow and cold lovers. You certainly love to remind all of us about how warm and unsnowy it is. I don't have a problem with your posts in general, but you do seem to like to rub it in. It's why some people label your posts as trolling even though you throw out "facts". Don't go getting defensive and upset on me now. Obviously people can post about winter warmth and positive departures, but I'm not sure any of us find it quite as exciting and amazing as you do. I guess you have not read my posts over the last 4 days? This weather sucks, period. If its not going to be sunny and 60 this is a completely useless cool up or whatever its called these days. I want snow, and lots of it, thats why when it snows i am up until 2am watching it, enjoying it, playing in it, taking pictures in it, just so happens the last two winters have sucked. Logan11
Clippers and late blooming Miller B's maybe. I can't say that I see more than that on the models. Probably better prospects in SNE where as MIller B can blow up at the last minute and have better effects. This is going to come down to people's definition of epic. We have not seen this type of pattern like Will stated since 05, the best part and weeklies show it is the reload of the pattern and more potential. As we all know lots of things have to align for the majors but I will take, clippers, miller Bs, Windex squalls, diamond dust, low wind chills, OES, LES leftovers any time. We can all say bye bye to this disgusting puke air, see ya again late Morch for all I care.
