burgertime
GFS is further south than the NAM @66 this might be a good run for NC.

burgertime
@75 could be snow across NC. The problem with this run is the time of day. BL temps gonna be an issue on this run but man it looks like it has serious potential. Get the new thread ready boys lol.

valkhorn
If there's a compromise between the 00z GFS and the 00Z nam so that east TN gets hammered, I'll be happy
burgertime
Snow map should be fun. Look at the SFC map on SV CLT east gets the money zone on this run. Again I've said before and I'll say again with ULL they will be all over the map. We won't know until about a day before who is going to cash in. packbacker
Can we wrap this run up and just slow it down by like 6 hours, we would have a monster on our hands. This is a 72 hour model prog now, why is the Euro so far off, the GFS has bounced around a little but the Euro isn't showing anything.

DopplerWx
one thing is for sure, a LOT of precip is in the cards. northern sc/southern nc gets walloped this run.
lilj4425
Can we stop with this ****? Give your reasons or just don't post. Too warm. BL temps are a mess. Even if it did snow outside of the mountains, it wouldn't accumulate much if at all.

SN_Lover
Not as good as the NAM over TN Eh you beat me to it burger. valkhorn
I'd prefer the NAM to win right now. The 00z GFS is shafting East TN. Although we are winning in the precip department right now, I wouldn't call 4" of rain with temps around 40 a 'win'.

This is a 72 hour model prog now, why is the Euro so far off, the GFS has bounced around a little but the Euro isn't showing anything. I agree pack that this would look a lot better if it was 6 hours slower. Good trends today w/ the NAM and GFS keeping it closed longer but to be honest I'm still worried w/ sfc. temps. I sure hope I'm wrong.

Marion_NC_WX
Are you basing this on soundings or just making a guess? KMRN @ 72 has it above freezing up to 800 mb however its got dry air at 800-900 mb and the wetbulbs would make it very close.
SN_Lover
Dunno why everyone is making a big fuss about temps. We are better this go-around than that last storm. may the odds ever be in your favor.
packbacker
Robert just said same thing about temps being a concern If we get a closed low like we just saw on the GFS with the HP building in and it comes in about 6 hours later someone will get dumped on. Until the Euro jumps in I am still skeptical though.
