Such a tough fcst. snow.gif The mid levels must be a bit cooler than the last run. The 12z had some sleet here, it will interesting to see what the new NAM soundings look like. Geos
The column on the 18z NAM falls to and below freezing by 12 hr here. I would say the jackpot zone would be from Belvidere, IL (Boone Co in general) to the southern burbs of Milwaukee.

cyclone77
Down to 31 here. Clouds thickening over quite nicely. Was 51 here early this morning before sunrise. I passed right through the cold front on the way to work. Truck temp dropped from 50 to 43 in about 15 miles. Pretty cool. Still riding my initial call of 1" for here. Hoping for more, but this system is extremely tricky with such a narrow zone of accumulations. New Euro didn't do much to instill confidence lolz. cyclone77
Not much precip hitting the ground in the deform atm. A few sleet reports coming out of southeast Iowa. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/526/jan12.jpg/'>

cyclone77
I once drove through a cold front and my windows fogged up almost immediately. I've had that happen many times after punching through the core or RFD into the inflow of a storm. Always a nice feeling.

While "drought" may not have been the right word to use, we can certainly use more rain. By December 31st, Detroit still had a yearly precipitation deficit of -6.32".
