Guest Pamela
I turn one in 86. Pretty exciting Truth be told, I'm really a good deal older...this was just the most recent time I doctored my BC to indicate a recent date of birth. Believe me, it has gotten *much* harder in the last 100 years with the improvements in security and record keeping...not to mention computerization of files in the 70's. I was born a few days after that storm and it must be the reason that I love snowstorms so much.

Reminded me of 2010. it was a great year but it did have it's torches...The beginning of December and the end of January had record warmth...February had its ups and downs and March was the same...It continued into April with record warmth in early April followed by a cold spell... nzucker
Dobbs Ferry had its latest accumulating snow on record that year with 0.2" on 4/24/1967. Some parts of NJ had accumulating snow on 4/27/1967 as well. Very weird spring..

tamarack
Dobbs Ferry had its latest accumulating snow on record that year with 0.2" on 4/24/1967. Some parts of NJ had accumulating snow on 4/27/1967 as well. Very weird spring.. I regret losing the Polaroid pic showing "4/27/67" written in 3" snow atop our old red Dodge Lancer wagon. And that after measuring 1.5" three days earlier on the back side of a coastal. Of course, seeing 13" on 4/23/86 in Blairstown (at 1,200', only 4-5" at 700') puts that into perspective. Too bad Upton missed out on most of the Dec 1966 snowfall (I had just over 30", with 15" in the 12/24 thundersnow), or that year would've been ahead of 95-96. Another facet of 3/67, shown in Unc's data, was the 20F max (with mucho wind) on the 18th, latest in the season NYC has failed to get above 20. Then the weird spring continued into May, with a powerful, tree-toppling northeast storm on 5/25 that featured highs in the 40s, about -30F from climo (NYC high was 46.) Several non-mountain stations in northern VT/NH had measurable snow from that event.
