Clinch Leatherwood
GEFS say pick up the flags. warmer than the 0z in the real long term again, but still good enough.
CoastalWx
warmer than the 0z in the real long term again, but still good enough. It's actually mostly colder than 00z except for the final couple of frames. Basically it builds the -NAO southward, but flushes the PV out at the same time, so Canada gets milder. Quincy
Saturday and Sunday have the potential to really torch, but it all comes back to how much sunshine and can we mix the warmer temperatures at 850-900mb down. If so, I think some SNE locations have a shot at 60.

ORH_wxman
Well we know we're getting a nice 5-10 days beginning around Tuesday or Wednesday. May e we'll get lucky and end up with an extension. I could see a bit of a relaxation and reload. I think I mentioned this a couple days ago. Even some of the great years had a few chinks in the armour...1994 had a cutter in January at the end of the month and a lot of people forget the Jan 17-18, 1994 storm which torched the coast...it was an inland runner...went almost over my head. There's always the possibility that we relax and then go into another favorable period. At this time range though, we have no idea. We could also just go into a bad pattern again, though the AO would argue against sustained crap...we manged to pull it off in December with a strong -AO, but that is the exception rather than the rule. CoastalWx
I'll totally laugh if that gets suppressed. The euro holds a little energy back so if some of that got into the mix...it would be a more formidable wave I think. The GFS and Euro both leave an ULL behind over extreme SW US. That's going to confuse the **** out of models I think. Watch that feature...not just for the wave next week..but afterwards too.

Clinch Leatherwood
Actually with comparing surface T, Saki is right about the GEFS in the 11-15 day. I'm mainly looking at the very end as I think we are starting to see signs the pattern is going to cool, then moderate for at least a short time before another cold shot end of month.
