Euro actually slips the front offshore Sunday night. It's very shallow but evident.

Will be interesting to see a.) if that's right and b.) how cold the air is west of the front

Yeah I noticed that tickle push south.. Lot of forecasts in the 50's on Monday. May have some big adjustments over next day or so when GFS outlets realize what's going on

Euro actually has high temps for Monday at midnight on Sunday night. The afternoon temps are near freezing despite 850 temps still a bit above zero. The airmass itself is fairly sloped so it definitely would be a threat for ice on any wave trying to come from the south and ride over the top of it.

We'll have to just wait and see what it looks like as we get a little closer. Still a ways out.

How in the sam hell do you get that cold? That is sick. It's 31 /29 here lol

lol....17° for the low in Stafford off a high yesterday of 45°.

Great sugaring weather this week.  I know a couple of producers who are collecting sap this week.  I suppose if I was on the ball I could have been doing that but I'm not one for early tapping.  I just don't trust the new taps to keep running in March if you tap in January, early January at that!

How about the sunrises the past few mornings?  They've been pretty awesome!

Yeah nice sunrises for sure. I only hit 42.1 yesterday so I'd rather have that and sacrifice radiating to protect the snow. With the freeze , thaw the last few days nice icy layer now over the snowpack. My low this morning was 30.7. Truly it's own little microclimate. As soon as I drove down the hill to 650 feet it was 23

So iow you weren't below freezing by much or for long. That may hurt you later in the week when the low elevs are 30F and you are 35-40F for mins. I was 40F yesterday but hit freezing by sunset and fell to 16F.

Well the euro was bringing cold air in too early. Technically it brings it in earlier, by still warm

Aloft. So it has the waves of low pressure right like gfs had.

But it means Monday is a chilly day now and sets the stage for the ice to snow event Tuesday Wednesday. The GFS had the front coming thru late Tuesday which never would have given us enough time to cool enough for wintry appeal
