Ginx snewx
The weenies have embraced the torch so it's time to return.would be great if yesterday's Euro runs return and high busts happen. Nothing would make me happier than folks hearing all week how Sunday will be in the 60s then a backdoor drops them into the 30's with a stiff wind. Nothing would make me happier than folks hearing all week how Sunday will be in the 60s then a backdoor drops them into the 30's with a stiff wind. If it's going to be snow-less and the vast majority of us are going to lose our snowpack we might as well just go nuts with the torch. Why not... let it rain fire down on SNE. The pattern going forward is exciting... potential for big cold and/or a snowy pattern. The worst nightmare situation for me would be a monster torch followed by a monster Arctic high sitting overhead with clear skies and days of like -2/12. weathafella
Lol home where they will be every year until Romo is gone Even though as a giants fan I instinctively dislike the redskins, I like griffin. Seahawks are toast next week I think.

Well for one a minimum above normal week would be good news for Southern NEski areas, ice fishermen and winter sports enthusiasts. Low dew 40S with subfreezing nights are much more preferable. N. OF PIKE
Jerry and Scooter would swan dive off the Tobin together well, I would put the o/u for bos @ 21.5 for the season, so it would take a continuation of bad luck, and a mostly crappy pattern, I don't think it will happen, but worth keepin on back burner
ORH_wxman
How about 1991? Sorry...not sure.where to find it Jan 1991 was actually pretty seasonable temps. Slightly below average. Snow was slightly below average too, but at least that month felt something like winter. The rest of that winter was terrible.

As pathetic as last year was and BOS under measuring in a couple of events (most notably 1/21), they STILL couldn't break the futility record. mahk_webstah
I love a little vodka cold once per winter, but I want it with at least a semi decent snow pack. I'll pass on the -25C 850s with bare ground showing. Let's get a snowy 2 weeks and then drop a -30C H85 through here for 2 days and then repeat the snow. I am on board for all of that except that part that kills the peaches. -16 finishes off the peaches for the season at my favorite orchard in Boscawen. They are up on a hill so they get any breeze which saved them last year on the one night that hit about -15 here. I like the snow as the arctic approaches, a brief pause in the middle so that the MA can get in on the fun and then more snow as it retreats. ScituateWX
Interesting to take note of the remaining snow pack in my area today while out and about. I live a little over a mile from the water and the little I got at the end of December has been reduced to patches throughout the yard. Meanwhile if you cross over route 3A and head into the west end of town and head into Norwell, Hanover etc... there is still a solid white landscape of a few inches, shows what a fine line it was the night of that storm 3A seemed to be the dividing line between the winners and losers in that one! The ocean temps in the upper 40's were the killer that night I imagine IMBY hopefully they tickle down a few degrees going forward. This past stretch of cold must have helped out some there was some ice that formed up surrounding the lobster boats at port in the harbor.

CT Rain
I'm not sure you can find 850s much colder than that here in New England. If we had snow cover it would have been epic.
