#NoPoles
a friend just passed along that it's 35 in London, and Wbz had a story about how waterfalls in China are completely freezing up. Better ice climbing than Franconia Notch...

mattb65
Mega torch today. Beautiful out. Love it when you can sense that winter is on the doorstep after the torch.
weathafella
Think of the summer days when a humidity siege ends with a fropa and lower dews and the warmest temps of the spell. That's today's analogy.
weathafella
Forgot something I need and had to run home to get it. A guy ran by shirtless. The torch is not a wimp after all.

I thought I was brave when I jogged in shorts and a tee. It's mid April warmth out there right now though.

ORH_wxman
If this happened a few days ago, we could have threatened a few record highs today...but the 1932 torch was a 4 day monster that's tough to beat its highs during the Jan 13-16 period. Baroclinic Zone
Thus far 52F is my low and now 61F for a high. TAN ASOS record high for today? 64F in 2005.

Mr Torchey
Looks like we might BARELY crack the 40s during this "torch". Sucks for the warmanistas I guess. Well I suppose Fairfield will still hit 70. ouch

Clinch Leatherwood
Wasn't Messenger the one saying this was meh muted warmup and the GFS kept the +10 c south of SNE? You're a little slow on the uptake, part of the reason I've been using the words muted over and over...self deprecation. The torch has largely been meh here, aside of today unless you like 45-50 and foggy for 24 hours.
ORH_wxman
anyone got any snow left? We still had pretty solid cover this morning, but it may be pretty mangled by this evening when I return.
Tropopause_Fold
i made a tongue-in-cheek joke sometime last weekend or early last week about cool SSTs keeping me cooler during the height of the torch. actually worked out that way
