Redmorninglight
Thanks, Ray for the speedy responses to both questions. My students will be pleased we still hold the record. Must have been one hell of a storm back then. I should go to the county museum and see if any diaries or journals mention the storm.

Heisy
Looks like 1-3" is a safe bet...I dont know about others but these types of storms do nothing for me. I'd rather have a 30 min squall like the other night than a 6 hour light snow.

AlexD
I'm just outside of lewes, I can tell you, this snow is so fine, you literally have to be standing outside in it to see it. Got a dusting now, on all surfaces....if there's more than a inch on the group tomorrow morning, I will be very(pleasantly) surprised

SmokeEater
Didn't expect this so far north, I'm in Mullica Hill, Gloucester County and it's snowing lightly, lol. And I can see the moon through the clouds.

AvantHiatus
Steady light snow has been occuring for about an hour, roads are covered. Nice event for southern locals, someone will probably pick up 1-2" on the eastern shore of Maryland with that heavy snow band.
Voyager
A bit banterish, and if Tom or Adam want to remove this, it's ok, but I think it speaks volumes about the winter we (and especially you guys in the Philly metro area) are having. The fact that a 1-3, at best, snowfall has garnered this much attention is something. In a decent to good winter snowfall-wise, a "storm" like this would barely get any airplay. Well, in fairness there were some model runs which suggested this could be a 6-12" event. That seems to be off the table completely now. BTW, a rare freezing rain and sleet event ongoing now here in Elko. First time I've seen legitimate sleet here, and only the third time I've seen freezing rain here. Lady Di
A dusting in Avondale this morning. Going north to work looks like it was just flurries, not enough to stick. While I admit it is exhilarating to watch you guys track storms as far as 10 days out, this has been a good week for me. We're going past 36 + hours below freezing, had a few flakes with some more to come. Hardly a winter cancel, imo. Still enjoying putting on the layers, watching vapors rolling out of chimneys, seeing the geese in the ice on the Brandywine, and looking forward to getting home tomorrow watching it snow with a nice glass of wine.
