michsnowfreak
Took a hike at one of my favorite Detroit area parks on Sunday, the Lower Huron Metropark. It was a day characterized by a steel gray sky, a light winter breeze, and miles of quiet at a park inside a rather urban metropolitan area. Not only was it peaceful, but the fact that it wasnt snowing simply reinforced my opinion of how much I truly enjoy WINTER - the season- over simply a particular storm or anything like that. michsnowfreak
the sun was shining for the first time in a while this New years day, so I took some pics while out and about.
michsnowfreak
The snow has settled/compacted a great deal and turned icy, but it was a nice winter day for a hike. Almost fell over when I coaxed a winter-hating friend of mine to go hiking with me today. Used the sunshine and mild temps as an excuse why it wouldnt be "so bad". Went to Oakwoods Metropark...I cant get enough of these parks scattered throughout the area in winter/fall. They are like little pieces of up north right in metro-Detroit.
