Cold Rain
I see jburns has a lot of time on his hands. Seriously, I think the event is being underplayed with regards to the impact it can have. All people are seeing is it isn't over 6 inches of snow so it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if it is just an inch of snow if it has ice on top of it. False. Brick Tamland
False. Not from reading the posts here. Most folks are acting like this won't be a big deal because the precip amount is light on the models right now.

DaculaWeather
I've been having the same issue. Buckeye put me in touch w/ Wow and we've been working on the problem. No luck so far but it's not just you. i contacted him today about the same issue. I tried to post an image and it said I couldn't. I then tried to post in the Problem Forum and it told me I didn't have permissions to do that. That was my work computer, working here at home. gritsnc
that is what is considered an IMBY question and not worthy in the discussion thread. And if you would do a little reading in the discussion thread , your question would be answered. I just read about 7 pages and my understanding is that it's mainly a more southern event. Then again, I'm not a meteorologist. I'm a Phlebotomist. I do enjoy reading when I understand though. I'll just sit back and watch for the simple maps and pictures. Or else I'll watch Van the Man. But posters on here sound like it won't be anything because the qpf is light.

Brick Tamland
And? Have you seen a model run with heavy qpf? No, but my point is if there is ice and snow mixed it won't take much to cause problems with the cold we have this week. It seems a lot of folks are ignoring that. It seems a lot of folks are ignoring that. I don't get your point. What exactly would you like for people to post on this message board to indicate there could be problems? What kind of problems? Severe power outages? Not likely too widespread with .25 or less snow/sleet/zr. Travel problems? You've already posted enough about that to cover this storm and all the rest that might happen for the next two winters. What are you looking for? metalicwx366
So, I'm trying to understand why my posts keep getting deleted. This IS a weather board, right? And I AM asking questions about the Friday event in the Friday event thread. WTH? If this is only a weather board for "experts" or people that understand all the lingo, then it would be nice if someone would inform me of that. Geez. I looked at the rules and I know we're not supposed to ask IMBY questions. The entire state of NC isn't my backyard, so that violation doesn't apply. Maybe my question will be answered here. Does the Friday event look to be mainly in SC and GA? The entire SE forum consists of NC. We are left out in GA and SC and AL and MS and FL and VA. If any other state is mentioned, it will be considered an IMBY question.

Brick Tamland
Well, the NAM looks like it is going to be worse. We might not have any precip at all to worry about by Friday. And it would be yet another case this winter of the models getting worse and worse as the event gets closer.
