Brick Tamland
Well, if the models don't get the storm right this week there is going to be even more questioning of how much we can rely on them with regards to wintry weather around here. I really feel the dynamics are just too hard and complicated for the models to handle when it comes to possible wintry weather in this area. I think the best they can really show now is there is potential for wintry weather. What actually happens is anyone's guess. It could be more, or less, or not happen at all. And if we don't have a decent storm, I think a lot of people are going to be calling for spring. It seems when we have the prcip, it's too warm for anything but rain. And when we have the cold, it's too dry. Hopefully, last week was the start of turning things around and we can get some decent winter weather here again. DCMetroWinston
Van Denton FOX8 WGHP TV Today's European Model. We posted this yesterday and it was at the time the lone ranger for a winter weather chance this weekend. Now other models show a winter weather chance for Friday Afternoon/Evening. All agree on LIGHT precip. and possibly patchy. Here in the Triad, we should be cold enough for mostly snow and or a snow/sleet mix with limited freezing rain. Total precip will likely range between 0.1 and 0.2" (melted). Amounts of snow will depend of rate of fall and how much of it is snow vs. sleet or freezing rain. Too far out to pin that down at the moment. Early guess.....Triad 1/2-1" snow and sleet.....light glaze of freezing rain/drizzle (less than 1/10") Like · · Share · 361617 · 42 minutes ago ·

dsaur
Nah it's a slightly below average here today in the upper 50s. We barely saw any rain from the last system. Im feeling droughty already. No, I mean you are pretty much in the southern hemisphere down there, lol. You are having you second summer, then will come summer summer, then back to second summer. If the 0 line never makes it down there, you get endless summer I like the end of the month/few days into Feb. for a storm. But if it wants me to have some nice freezing virga late week, I'll take it. T

Shawn
Accuweather maps are always grossly inaccurate, it seems. I don't know who makes them, but they are almost always totally unrepresentative of what is actually forecasted. They're always showing the NE getting a bigger hit and pretty much omit most others generally. I've learned that generally, Frank Strait is the only guy that cares about this area. His forecasts/videos are located here: Frank Strait

lilj4425
Snow is bad for the economy. It shuts down stores, restaurants, schools, offices, and other areas of employment. It also puts strain on city/county resources and finances due to use of more salt, sand, gas, equipment, vehicles, etc. I hope it never snows here again. buckeyefan1
It's an easier way to live when I don't expect MBY to be involved. But then, I also don't expect very many of YBY's to be involved either. I still do not see enough to warrant such back yard enthusiasm. mby is never hardly ever involved No, I mean you are pretty much in the southern hemisphere down there, lol. Brick Tamland
Yes, the nitpicking is a little much. If someone is actually replying about he run or the discussion I don't see how it is banter. It's getting hard to know where to post. Instead I am supposed to post everything in here I guess where it's become a free for all off topic thread which is not what it was intended to be when he banter head was made. MotoWeatherman
If you can't get snow and you own a pressure washer and a compressor and a few special nozzles....blow snow. Temp is 30 with a dewpoint of 8 which makes for great snow blowing. Plan is to run it all night and hope the air line does not freeze up.
