Man I HATE living in SC in the winter........I am really not sure why I put myself through this every winter.   At my age I need to find a past time that gives me more pleasure.  I'm happy for all of the NC folks that will see snow out of this, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't very envious......same thing every damn year.

Rant over.

Here's my inner monolouge: hmm, the models really do show us getting snow in Charlotte tonight. There no way though its going to accumulate with how warm it is. But this is different, there's lots of dynamics and stuff. Models are science. But in the past changovers at the end of a storm never pan out, but there's many mets saying clt can get a few inches. Its not going to drop to freezing until after the precip ends probably, but the snow rates are going to be so high! Oh look, the models backed off the cold long range, that stinks..but its going to snow tonight! Wait is it? Man I'm hungry.

Worried about Brick. Is it possible to die from hyperventilating or does your breathing slow back down after you pass out? Either way, I wish I could watch. :devilsmiley:

What's the over/under on the number of post-storm days until we hear the first "cold without snow is a waste"?

From eyewall in the other thread.  Thought I'd bring it to banter...

It appears we are in the weenie panic phase just ahead of the event. That tells me everything is right on track  :)

I've noticed that, too.  Also, as you get closer to an event, the IMBY wall-building begins to occur.  It's every man (and woman) for himself at t-minus time.

From beanskip in the main thread

"Yeah, the short-range model trending is clear -- upper level features inching north making it more difficult for cold air to turn over the precip to the immdieate north of ULL -- that would, unfortunately, mean the I-85/US74 corridor west of Charlotte"

Looks like I was right not to buy more beer for tonight as I live an hour N of I-85 and 15 N or US74..

Yeah, but ya'll had a great back in 68/69,  They closed the interstate down at Greenville, and I had to sneak on via back roads to get home.  I was the only one on the road for 80 miles, in deep sleet/snow.  Drove for miles and miles with the lights off.  A top storm for me, so I always think of Greenville and sleet/snow fondly :)  Not that that helps you now, lol.  But at least it does happen.  T
