Brick Tamland
I don't think they are accounting for the deformation bands, either. I think with that it could end up being closer to 10:1 if you end up under one for a while. There are some big precip totals coming out.

Brick Tamland
Do you even know what 10:1 is? An inch of snow for every .10 of precip. I am just saying if someone is under one of the deformation bands for a while that it could be closer to 10:1 because of how heavy the snow is. It will be a very wet snow with marginal temps.

calculus1
Unconfirmed reports of sleet in Weaverville. At work in Asheville but I am getting ready to leave as I have developed one hell of a sinus infection. I will let you know what is happening when I get home. That's called a "snow fever," Don. And the only cure is more...snowfall!!
Brick Tamland
Lookout just said the same thing I was talking about. Given the setup, banding, very heavy rates/heavy precip totals, and decently cold enough temps aloft...I expect better than that in localized areas. That's not to say everyone will see that but I think 7 to 10 inches is a decent possibility wherever the heaviest banding occurs. RDU shows saturation all the way up to 450mb for a while. LovingGulfLows
It's been raining a lot here in Atlanta. I'll just be glad to see some sunshine after this storm. I like rain, but when it's cloudy and damp for a whole week, it gets depressing especially when you have to walk in downtown nearly every day. Bevo
I borrowed a phrase from Str8cash because it friggin' rocks, but for SC - this is what I'm leaning toward as far as seeing actual snow on the ground: My apologies for the sub-par excel graphics.
