Raleigh NWS is not onboard with Thurday night being anything to write home about...

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY.A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL DEVELOP ALONG A STALLED FRONTAL ZONEDRAPED ACROSS THE CAROLINAS ON THURSDAY...AND WILL MOVE OFF THECAPE FEAR COAST THURSDAY NIGHT. PRIMARILY A COLD RAIN WILLACCOMPANY THIS SYSTEM OVER CENTRAL NC...BUT THERE COULD BEA BRIEF CHANGE-OVER TO SNOW THURSDAY NIGHT BEFORE THEPRECIPITATION QUICKLY COMES TO AN END. NO ACCUMULATION ISEXPECTED...GIVEN BOTH THE BREVITY OF ANY SUCH OCCURRENCE...AS WELLAS PRECEDING WARM GROUND AND ABOVE FREEZING SURFACE TEMPERATURES.

Yeah, WRAL saying the same thing. Makes me wonder a bit why everyone here is so excited about it.

WRAL has the Thurday night low at 48F and the NWS has the low at 34F.  Both above freezing.  The temperatures will need to drop below the current forcasted temps by tomorrow to see anything accumulating.

I guess some folks like WxSouth think the snow rates will overcome.  People have been saying 3 to 6 inches on here for RDU, and some saying just a dusting. Hard to know which way to go with this.

 A dusting of slop....in this case I would call it a splattering...not a dusting... :)
