Hopefully this means you will now be posting on a bird forum instead of here.

Yet again the birds nail the event. I never see them go in a eating freezing within a large group and there not be winter weather the next day.

Why is there not more weight given to birds?

Lol what is an eating freezing? Do you mean frenzy?

Our skies have been healing for over a week down here. We must be overdue for something.

I have noticed that often before winter weather, you will see several flocks of blackbirds eating.  My stepdad always told me that when you see blackbirds eating off the ground in winter, that snow is coming.  I've always maintained that there's really no place else for them to eat than off the ground.  However, I have paid attention through the years.  And if I see a lot of blackbirds eating, and there is the possibility of a winter storm, I give it more weight.  It's just anecdotal, but more often than not, it works out.  For two days before this one, I saw this happen.  Last week, I didn't.

Anyway, Wilkes says some crazy things, but I'm not so sure this one is as far out in la la land as the healing sky business.

Or maybe the conditions were favorable for a winter event with cold air in place and moisture/warm air overrunning the cold air creating a sleet and freezing event with snow in areas far North. Sounds very reminiscent of what is about to happen in the Midwest except badboy version.

I noticed the blackbirds. I also noticed several cardinals. There is some type of bush they are always near in my back yard...I saw at least 5 different cardinals yesterday.

I saw a flock of birds this morning at a shopping center i was salting. All in parking lot that has no trees or shrubs in it. I assume they were eating gum off the asphalt talking about potential of next event.

I've never noticed any correlation with cardinals or robins or blue jays, all of which I see throughout the winter.  But what I don't see nearly as often is a hundred or more blackbirds feeding.  When I see that, it's at least worth noting.
