Euro ensembles actually try and get somewhat of a -NAO by mid-month to go with the better PAC. Its a bit E Based with the PV over Hudson Bay...but that would probably be enough to push the gradient to our south and give us some fun. Hopefully it pans out. There's some troughiness in the mountain west that tries to battle it....but that would probably be a very active pattern with very potent cold source to the north.

We will be fine, plenty of opportunities in front of us we just cannot expect wall to wall cold it won't happen. I would like to see a 10-15 day period of cold and snow and that may come after around the 20th

enjoy the next several days. squeeze out some flurries this weekend...then just have to put our heads down, close our eyes....and fast forward to after MLK weekend

I think we'll do well 1/20 and beyond roughly and arguably we've done well 12/22 onward. Scott (Saki) has the right idea. 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off. Better than last years 2 days on, 5 months off.

LOL   I didn't realize Saki was Scott.   The names get confusing.

For the sake of continuity I have been Logan11 since 1994. :)

I'm like you Rick. Same name all the time. Though I was jeddy on mirc. I became weathafella in 2001 when I registered the name on the Internet.

Yep I have been Logan11 since I fist went on IRC (even pre our #weather channel) in 1994, on a text interface before Netscape. I took the stupid name from the character on Logan's Run which was a fav. sci-fi movie of mine as a kid. Most people assumed it was connected to Logan Airport.

I don't always forecast snow but when I do, I use the Euro. Keep the bus warm my friend and stay thirsty.

He's fluent in all languages, including three that only he speaks.

Midgets look up to him.

Ghosts fear him.

He tips an astonishing 100%.

Once while sailing around the world, He discovered a short cut.

When sailing the wind is always at his back.

Panhandlers give him money.

He does Calculus in his head.

He always rounds to five decimal points.

He divorced his wife because he caught her littering.

His 7th Inning stretch could last through the 9th....

He's never not sat up straight.

As a toddler he taught others to walk.

At the book store people crowd to see him read.

Athletes seek his autograph.

His passport requires no photo.

He can keep one eye on the past while looking into the future.

When fishing at some point he has to call it quits.

He's never found a penny that wasn't heads up.

When he drives his new car off the lot it increases in value.

His 1913 Duesenberg still has that new car smell.

Though he can't walk on water he's never slipped on ice.
