What's funny is I totally missed that. Lol. I mean I was just looking at modeology today. But do not question, again not you, my snow reporting, cripes Garth and I live 5 miles apart and our year end totals have been within a 1/2 inch for 3 years.

I'm not even sure where all that came from. Your totals looked fine to me.

It was the type of  run that would cause NBC Nightly news to show people throwing frisbees on the Chicago lakefront asking what hsppened to winter.

It could be a "dirty day" though so to speak, those 850 temps sort of cranked up ahead of that developing storm so it could be overcast over a large part of the area it was portaying them.  I doubt anyone would see 75 or 80 degrees north 37 or 38N.

Just curious for those in CT, does Ryan do that on air?  Honestly not trying to be a wise-a$$ as I know he generally loves weather and is an excellent, knowledgeable met, but I am curious if upper management either directly or indirectly pressures folks to act that way.  Are the majority of faux-met rip and readers are actually doing fist pumps when they see primaries cutting west of Chicago, ear to ear grins with firehose zonal flow?

most of the viewing public does not want cold and snow in January...I know that's hard to believe around here but go downtown in your local area and survey 100 people...

Ryan is matter of fact but of course his on air teammates act like we should live in South Carolina.

I normally try to say things like "for those of you who don't like cold... some good news for next week!" or something like that. In general I try to act pretty passionate and excited about weather but you have to temper it when most people watching don't like snow or cold or storms.

Oh man I hope nobody is thinking that lol.

Witches tit wx no disrespect intended. Dropping into the low teens imby at this time and I suspect I'll be maybe 6-7 for a low.

Deep cold with thicknesses well under 500 dm in eastern Canada can drill it in. There's a bit of a sgnal for one more parting shot Sunday/Monday before the big warmup. I'm liking the hard freezing of the waterways....land the inevitable drop in ssta east of Boston. Can't hurt.

Big difference between SNE and NNE so far tonight... with below zero up north, and teens above zero down from Mass Pike south.

-8F currently here at home at 11pm.  BTV going with a forecast low of -17F here.

Already some negative teens showing up prior to midnight which is impressive.

Yeah Springfield fans can be awful, all three thousand of them.

You must be a very good skater Paul, all that time you spent at the rink.  I'm mediocre at best but getting better.  But it's still a freakin blast ripping around on a lake with a bunch of people who also mostly suck at hockey, but love winter.

I'm alright.  I only learned how to skate 8 years ago.  I can't do much really.  I can cross over from left to right but can barely do right to left.  I tried teaching myself more 3-4 years ago but that's when I hurt my back and now skating can be difficult for me.  I don't have the balance I used to and I go through periods where I'll get severe foot cramps.  I really wish I learned how to play hockey.
