H2Otown_WX
I have 30 and 32 for BDL. Yikes, I'm thinking Wednesday could stay in the mid 20's at least in the hills.

Logan11
So to put this in perspective...my average high is around 28 for that period (give or take) So weeks 2 and 3 it would average from 33.4 to 35.2 and week 4 it would average 29.8 to 31.6. It's a simplification and it may be a torch in a positive anomaly sense, but it wont necessarily feel very torch-like and could include snow threats. Verbatim at 850 in southern NE. +3-4C weeks 2 and 3. +1-2C week 4. Anomalies are a little less across the north.

HoarfrostHubb
You too. Don't know if I can make it to ball drop. One of my fave NYE stories was in 1999. Our company was hired by some of our customers to have several people "on call" in case the Y2K (old enough to remember that?) caused issues. I was paid $500 to stay sober (and at home) and avail to go in for issues. At 2:30 my phone rang... just a friend wishing me a happy new year. But I was pissed. Tjhought I had to drive into cambridge or something...lol

Semper911
What a great winter night. Screw the longterm. So true. I am just trying to be outside as much as I can, and every time I look out a window and see the snow, it fills me with glee. It has been so long since we have had any legit snow to look at. Happy New Year!

OSUmetstud
I'm waiting for Jorge (wxmx) to pull the trigger on the propagating SSW and I'll feel a bit better for the longer range going forward. Obviously the medium range looks pretty meh.

nzucker
0z GFS keeps things cooler in the long-range as the PV hangs in over Eastern Canada...by the time it starts to retreat, a strong cutter reestablishes a cold airmass across the nation.
