Yes they have, blend the euro and canadian and you get something half way decent, half way home down here on 12/31 I think snow lovers will be just fine. Snowpack tonight, cloudy skies with possibly flurries on NYE it could be much much worse.

We had what amounted to a 5" thing that ended as rain. We just a 6-12" thing, which was really more 6" for the majority (or less).

Why do those 2 combined have to be so much stress on the atmosphere that we get 2 weeks of excruciating ennui? Is it really going to take that long to reload this b**ch.

I don't care if it rains - I hate it in mid winter when nothing happens at all. That's one of the unique angles on last year's torturous unending insanity is that it really didn't snow because ...it simply didn't DO anything!

Anyway, the flow is too fast and non-compressible in the SE. You have height approaching 590 dm over the Bahamas, and 510 in central Ontario. The balanced geostrophic wind leaving the MA is 100kts already; no S/W slipping into that domain is going to do anything. It will just disappear. We have a background +PNA and there are S/W getting inserted from off the Pacific, but they are ineffectual due to that ginormous wind fields back east.

This is the picture you see of something just so horrific and think for a minute the damage it might do to the young kids.....but you just feel the duty to share it regardless...This is almost like an inbound asteroid that destroys this winter......oh wait

I think most of us are just joking around. At this point there's virtually nothing to look forward to about the progged pattern. I mean just hideous. Obviously things can change quickly and all it takes is one good system with the right track to do something fun for us.

I'm not G and you should certainly know me by now....no one loves winter and cold and snow more than I do, but given the tools i have access to, I thought it would be interesting to at least share them here for people to visualize...I hope that it's wrong. And even if it's not, there's the end of January and February and March (Morch, I mean)...
