LVblizzard
One of my friends lives near State High and her weather station says 51. So the 50 at Walker is probably accurate.
canderson
damn nice out, i may mow the grass when i get home! It'll be water-logged, good luck on that! I ate lunch outside on a patio. Can't beat that for Jan. 29. Well unless we're in the throws of a 12+' snowstorm, that is.

JamieOber
Definitely feeling nice out there in terms of temp...I don't doubt the 50 at Walker. Walker at 56 now. It doesn't feel that warm. And this is odd: Why are there such variations, I wonder? Temp inversion to the extreme?
JamieOber
That's crazy...still 37.7° in Bellefonte. Our building's cooling/heating system has an outside therm and it says 41.

Laurel Highlands Wx
Fog is starting to come back. I went to class and saw it was 39. Then stepped outside and felt really warm and had to change to a lighter jacket. This weather is just crazy. Back home it got up to 58. I think I need a fan to keep the fog and cold away. dcfox1
61 for the high here today. Hit 58 here only several miles from maytownwx. Still 55 but HIA reporting 43 don't know if the river is affecting it.

MAG5035
I think some of PennMan's cold air snuck back down the valley again. Per mesowest obs KUNV is back down to 34ºF with personal weather stations mainly in the mid-upper 30s in the State College area. Weather station in Tyrone is 38. There is some tremendous temp differences in southern Blair. Claysburg is reporting 38ºF while literally on the other side of the mountain and 10 miles away Martinsburg (KAOO) is reporting 58ºF. Eskimo Joe
It will be interesting to see what happens with the progged 850 winds today. Some of the numerical guidance is showing winds approaching 80 knots over central PA today that may be able to whip that cold air out of there. Check the previous page and my image of temps - what was up with the wildly varying temps? For example, the Walker Bldg was showing 55, we got no where near that at the Rider Bldg on the corner of Burrowes and Beaver. Our outside therm that's part of our heat/AC system never got higher than 42, in fact fell to 39 when I left at 5. The map image I posted showed wildly varying temps. Now, I see PSUHazleton posting 52 and it's 34.7 here in Port Matilda (I'm at home today).
