That's a good question. Looking at satellite, doesn't look like any clouds around.

I've been watching temps on mesowest tonight. There are several stations east of Scranton/WB up in elevation that have been below zero a good part of the evening. Several -4's and a -5. The official station near that bunch (Mount Pocono) is -4.

I would tell you my temp but my therm isn't working for some reason. It's taken -17 before.

I like that weenie 3-5 inch stripe that gets down to me and Jamie.

Yeah, like one of the clippers last year, lol.

BTW tiny little flakes are falling from a moon/starlit sky. Kind of cool. Don't think it's cold enough for ice needles.

Edit: Never mind. Not ice needles, diamond dust. I'm pretty sure that's what it is. Probably just cold enough for it.

Same thing down here too. Speaking of which, I was going to post in the Pittsburgh thread about the "nuclear effect" snow but you beat me to it haha. That's some wild stuff...here was the source I saw it from via F-book.

It snowed overnight, wasn't expecting that. Looks like 1/2-1". Any excuse to snow this winter, it will around here.

Snowed here too this morning, was coming down good around 5. Though it was just a dusting, roads got slick, schools on 2 hour delay. Co-workers who live east of us, Palmyra, Lebanon etc, had nothing.

Lol...I have had a great winter! It is obvious we are here to hope for snowstorms and this feels like a wasted chance with cold air.

Not to sound like too much of an old dude, but been doing this for 40 years and that sort of thing happens even in the best winter. Everybody loves the 2002-2003 winter but one thing I remember was the absolute deluge I drove back from Pittsburgh in on New Year's Day after visiting friends.

We got .8 - how much did you get, MAG? My neighbor was out sweeping, she's a night manager at Wegman's and she told me that her drive home was hectic as hell, pretty heavy snow. Seems like it was a quick burst?

whatever we got, caught highway guys off gaurd, which i'm sure that's why our school has a 2 hour delay. When i went for gas this morning around 5 all secondary roads were covered. Penndot has a shed right near me, on my way back from getting gas, they were out, but the township crew wasn't.

.3" of new snow at the house and a low of -7F with some brief clearing this AM according to the mother. It is to bad we have had all this cloud cover and nickle and dime LE, if true raditional cooling with clear skies all nite in this kind of setup, temps could have gotten real cold. I'm wondering if tonight could be the coldest night yet if clearing can take place.

I tried to clear the walk and driveaway and basically couldn't - it's almost a waste of resources trying to do anything road-wise IMO with this.

83 was an unmitigted disaster around 7:30 - wasn't moving an inch. Not sure if it's still backed up, but no one that live over in Etters is in work yet and that's several people so it must suck.

Same here.

Hey, anybody know if the ratios on the Cobb tables is accurate or not: http://www.meteor.iastate.edu/~ckarsten/cobb/cobb.php?model=namm&site=kunv

24-1?

The state was spreading something, not sure if it was anti-skid or salt, but i agree what the Hell do you do with this. Its so fluffy, we get a decent wind will blow it away. It may cause issues later with refreeze
