Mr. Windcredible!
Just out for my first official measurement. Looks like 8.2"...4" of which fell in the last 2 hours or so. Still maybe another inch on the way. Might make a run at 10" here. I really thought 6" was best case scenario here...so I'm thrilled!
dryslot
Looks like a deform band is setting up from Lewiston west to just north of Laconia. Looks to be skipping Merrimack County but still decent arching down towards sw nh. radar returns are worsening here, but the snow is steady light to occassionally moderate and accumulating. perhaps I am getting subsidence? Those heavier bands to my south get up here mark in the next few hours

CT Rain
It's just weird that I could score almost 4" snow just 20 miles north of NYC while Boston rained. We shouldn't need an arctic airmass in late December to get snow. I thought eastern Mass would do a lot better in the last two storms. You can talk about the lack of high pressure or easterly flow but Boston area has undoubtedly had its share of bad luck lately too. Just epic awful luck. Even around New Years it can be tough for eastern areas when winds are out of the NE. Without being able to advect some cooler/drier air down the coast the wind off the water just torches the BL.
