Wannabehippie
I was food shopping at the Fairway in Douglaston. As I walked out of the store the precip was just starting. It was snow/sleet/ice pellets there. As I drove home to Astoria it flipped to snow, then to rain near LGA, then back to snow as I got off the GCP and now it is snowing steadily with big fat flakes. Not sticking to anyplace as of yet. Temp is 34.

jm1220
not our storm Jim..maybe we'll get a slushy inch as it moves away..this setup should have brought snow Winds are NE, which I would honestly expect to keep us cooler. Just goes to show you how useless this airmass is. My temp actually went up a degree to 36 from 35 when it started. Our one hope I think is that bands develop overhead when the coastal gets going, that overcome this marine layer. Otherwise, we'll have to sit on the sidelines while 10 miles away get 3-6". These are the most frustrating storms you can get here.
Metsfan
not our storm Jim..maybe we'll get a slushy inch as it moves away..this setup should have brought snow The problem was the lack of low level cold air.
