cyclone77
We were forecast to pick up about 1/2-1" with the weakening northern vort today/tonight. Looks like we'll escape with nothing.
chuckster2013
A few more inches tonight on top of the 6" left over from the last storm..
AppsRunner
Just under an inch here, back under moderate snow. Looks like that will continue for at least a few more hours tonight... probably going to eclipse the 2" minimum of my forecast here.
ukrocks
So far a half inch here. About to get some heavier snows here in a bit. If we stay under one of these bands for more than two hours, then we could end up with two to four inches.

AppsRunner
Just started to snow here about 25 minutes ago. If you can get some of the stuff from here to move north you are in for a treat... even KTOL has a 3/4 mi visibility Since it's 2AM and I'm bored, here's TWC's take on tonights/tomorrow's snowfall Weird that the nearly 2" here isn't showing up on their map lol
csnavywx
Grats Friv. Slapped just under half an inch down, for a season total of.... half an inch. Next wave just got sampled by balloons and surface obs and is now trending drier and further south. Warming up the towel throwing arm for this one. This one has Lucy's football written all over it. turtlehurricane
A tad over 2 inches in Madison with snow still coming down, reflectivity increasing again so maybe we'll reach 3". It's spread out over such a long time that the impacts are minimal, roads have been easily cleared by plows and traffic alone is breaking it up. Sidewalks need some shoveling, could get icy the next couple of days since so little clearing has been done. We had a solid 9" glacier in place before the event even started, so it looks fairly Arctic out there.
Geos
Steady light snow started here about 15 minutes ago. Noticing increased radar returns up around Milwaukee to Port Washington. Trough axis must be starting to move south or towards the shore.
ukrocks
Snow has really picked up the last hour. Streets are completely covered now! Just need to keep the snow around for four or five more hours so we can have a nice event. I probably have roughly an inch right now.

ukrocks
Snow continues to fall at a moderate pace, but I'm going to bed. May set my alarm for 6 a.m. so I can see how things are doing. Looks like we will end up with 2-3 inches of snow.
Ajdos
Greetings from Florida, 65F ATM where I'm watching for some strong thunderstorms to move in from the west ...ALso Watching the radar in Detroit, how awesome is that back to back snow events...hope they can pull out some good snow out of this system.. snowlord81
Storm is winding down and now IND decides to hoist WWA for areas north of Indy. So I went from expecting snow showers to my point forecast calling for 4-7 inches! I'll take it.

AppsRunner
That band from Munice to here is making up for the temporary dry slot. On another note why I am awake right now?
Thundersnow12
Several meso lows associated with that N/S LES band out over lake michigan currently.
michsnowfreak
what a way to wake up here. Its a white world outside. Just looking from my window i see the obscured treeline in the background as the snow falls and it appears we have a few fresh inches of powder. Without a doubt this is the deepest snow we have had since late Feb 2011! I definitely am planning on doing some winter activity tomorrow, if I cant drag anyone sledding, then a hike in a metropark is a must!
snowstormcanuck
Based on radar, it's been snowing here for probably 90 minutes and already 1/2-3/4 of an inch down. 6z GFS doesn't show the snow really getting going until after 15z but it's coming down nicely and seems to be accumulating efficiently. I think my 2" ceiling might in reality be a floor.
snowstormcanuck
That band from Munice to here is making up for the temporary dry slot. On another note why I am awake right now? I asked myself that very same question. In winters of the past, a snowfall like this would have had me get up, check the window, and go back to bed. Unfortunately, snow has become such a scarce commodity that a 2-3" snowfall is going to have me get through my day on 5 1/2 hours sleep.
snowstormcanuck
Based on King City radar, there's actually an E-W oriented LES streamer just offshore. Winds are too light to get it this far north, but Toronto4 and Torontonian downtown should keep an eye on it.

BowMeHunter
nice very light snow the last 3 hrs.. with no snow on the horizon and the terrible results of this mornings snow there was no way I was going to bed until I knew for sure the leftovers up north weren't going to sink down. sleep is for when you're six feet under. DAFF
sleep is for when you're six feet under. Or when the lots are 100% asphalt !!! A solid 3" here in the county. Snow is actually drifting a little bit too!! What a great end to 2012 WRT the weather in our region. Cold is comming later in the week but my theory is snow breeds snow so we might get lucky in these parts.
Chicago WX
Eyeballing it, probably just under an inch here. Was expecting less when I went to bed, so it's sort of a win.
