threeyoda
Here's DT's snowfall map: And News 12 NJ's: WABC 7: And lastly Wild about Weather's on Facebook, who seems to be pretty accurate most of the time, but I'm not sure how reputable he is. So my question is what's deal with the big differences between maps?

IrishRob17
I'm trying to decide if I should pull the plug on a wine tour tomorrow- we have a limo booked to hit wineries in Warwick, Washingtonville and Central Valley here in the OC. 1-3 inches probably isn't too bad, but if we get 2-4 or more than its probably a no go for us. Hopefully there is good consensus by later today. What do you more informed people think based on the latest? I cant believe this is even a consideration... Pitmaster
I cant believe this is even a consideration... Yeah a few inches isn't a huge deal- the issue is spending all that money on a limo and trying to get to all the wineries in 5 hrs during the snow. I would just as soon reschedule and get drunk at home lol

RUNNAWAYICEBERG
i love these little 3-6" events that occasionally can surprise some locals with 8" or so. this certainly has bust potential the farther NW you go too, but most of our area should do fairly well. NE PA/Sussex/Orange counties look to receive >.50" of precip based off the 0z NAM.. With >10:1 ratios I can see this becoming a warning criteria snowfall... Guest Patrick
thanks snywx...i was going off of 12:1....not that i have any good science behind it. you think 15:1 is more likely?

Even 12:1 with those precip amounts would yield low end warning snowfall.. 15:1 is possible but probably not likely..
Juliancolton
Temps are plenty cold all the way up, so we should do better than 10:1 in the meaningful precip rates, but there's not really any great lift so I don't know if it'll be crazy. Northwest NJ
If we can get 4-6 inches it will add to our snowpack which is going nowhere soon with the cold week ahead. The deeper the snowpack the lower the night time temperatures will get. I love it when the lakes are all frozen and the Delaware River has a lot of ice on it. Hey with what the NAM is spitting out that could yield us 5-8".. Then again I always take the NAM with a grain of salt..

Either way, I am looking forward to it I guess the benchmark for most of us is whether we can surpass Wednesday's totals. 4.6" or greater will do it for me. 4-6 is pretty bold I think, but Albany seemed low on Wednesday so who knows. Wine tour is canceled but we will party tomorrow night anyway. Here's to 6 more inches! On a side note- if you're a scotch man I highly suggest you check out Oban 14. - highly worth it.
