Pitmaster
Well looks like tonight won't be too white for us. Guess we will see what happens for the weekend if anything. I fly out to Houston next Wed so naturally the extended forecast calls for a chance of snow Tues night and Wed! Lol Long way to go though.

Guest Patrick
Just a side note and general NW burb question.... still a newbie up here so all input is appreciated... It seems like almost every year, there is at least one decent coastal storm in the spring (March/early April) that gives the coast a good soaking and the mountains up here a foot or more. I'm above KFWN and not quite sure where to find that quantified. Maybe it just seemed like it was every year because it WASN'T happening on the coast. In addition to that, Mother's Day was always the weekend that the tomato plants made it outside. Does that rule work up here, or do I need a later date? thanks in advance for your thoughts

Guest Patrick
Hi Matt Agree about the surprise for sure. What a wacky day. I have an atv trail in my backyard that goes all the way over to lake panorama... the moths and mosquitoes out there today were bigger than my fist... but what a wild ride. the changes in a few miles in the depth of snowpack up here really are incredible. my front yard has about 5 inches. backyard 3 inches. most areas on the way to the lake were very patchy to nothing...sussex county is wild man. pouring pure snow right now. was hoping to take the kids down to the wallkill duck trail tomorrow...doesn't look like that's in the cards now. Pitmaster
This was the latest from NWS for my town- Monroe, up here in Orange County. Still getting heavy, huge flakes. Half inch so far but not sticking to the roads right now. A BAND OF LIGHT TO MODERATE PRECIPITATION WILL WORK INTO THE REGION THROUGH MIDNIGHT. INITIALLY THIS WILL BE IN THE FORM OF RAIN ...BUT THEN TRANSITION TO SNOW BY AROUND MIDNIGHT. LIGHT TO OCCASIONALLY MODERATE SNOW WILL CONTINUE THROUGH 4 AM ...BEFORE ENDING. BETWEEN 1 AND 3 INCHES OF SNOW ACCUMULATION ARE POSSIBLE THROUGH THIS TIME. THE HIGHEST ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE IN THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS.
