Well it looks like the snow pack has succumbed to the rain and mild temps aside from some icebergs at the end of driveways. Considering how tame this winter has been we still had a good month of snow cover. Hopefully we see a better pattern develop before its said and done- and we get some new white laid down.

If not I guess I can start ramping up for softball season that starts in about 8 weeks. Lol

I had a high of 59 yesterday and a high of 58 early this morning, down in the low 40's now, 1.69" of rain. As mentioned, it was a nice stretch of snowcover while it lasted.

Yeah, not sure what the high got to here in Monroe- when I went to bed last night it was 54.

We are currently down to 41 so it's dropping. Weird to see grass now after seeing everything white for several weeks. Definitely been a weird winter with the temp swings. But like they say- its only weather!

Good evening folks,

Been out west in Jackson Hole taking runs. It has snowed almost every day at the mountain. Took some runs at Grand Targhee to chase powder too. I would estimate that  4 feet has fallen in the past week above 8500 feet. lodge level around 20 inches.

Rumors floating around of a 2 ft dump possible Thursday/Friday this week. I am scheduled to fly back Thursday.

If the storm holds, I will extend the trip for more powder.

Hope all is well and you get you snow  Sunday.

Keep your faith for the next 60 days!

Cheers,

Darkstar

Cold and cloudy here in Monroe- 25 degrees by me.

Will see what comes of this clipper for the Hudson Valley but not really expecting much.

Guess we will see if these upcoming clippers will whiten things up around here.

Would be nice to get one big event before winter ends but gotta take the good winters with the bad too.

Sounds great out there Darkstar- enjoy!

Nothing like skiing in fresh powder.

About 15 yrs ago my buddy and I did a trip to Beaver Creek and Vail in Colorado- they got 7 feet of snow in the 7 days we were there- was truly an epic experience. It ruined me for skiing here on the east coast lol

Mid week there it hit the 40s so we decided to just take a break and do some eating and drinking on a Wed. Shuttle bus took us up top- by the time we came back down about 5 hrs later a storm had blown in - we got off the shuttle at the base of the mountain in Beaver Creek and our condo was about 500 ft away- we couldn't even see it and the snow was coming down horizontally - was really amazing! That storm dropped 2 and a half feet overnight.

Always wanted to try Jackson Hole- maybe next year. Have fun and enjoy the snow out there - and be safe!

Have light snow falling now... varying in intensity from light to moderate every once in awhile.

Yeah same thing here in Monroe- coming down lightly and a cold 21 degrees

Got maybe a quarter inch overnight. It's a shame we can't get one of these clippers to turn into a moderate event.

Targhee rules!  The winter I lived there we had 180" in November and 220" in December.  Absolutely EPIC!  The best day in there was Turkey Day.  The afternoon before it started to snow around 1 and by 1:30 am when I took the snow stake reading for that days ski report it was 32" (at the base) and it was 12*.  The cat driver was telling me it was going over the cab in waves at mid mt.  I had second chair and it was chest deep to over the head blower all the way down.  I still get goosebumps 18 years later.

Oh yeah, todays snow - Another half inch after the half inch yesterday and the almost inch before that and it kinda looks like winter out there.  It's still flurrying here and has been ranging from light snow to heavy flurries since before sunrise and while it says 27* in my profile it's actually 23* up the hill here at the house.

Looks like Friday may have a chance

As usual we stand the best chance out here of being in the screw zone and missing the best banding off to our east. Not that it won't still be a major storm but it won't be as much as areas further NE.

C'mon dude stop.. Most of us are well on our way to an avg season. If this Friday pans out most of us will be at 36+ for the season with most of feb and march to go
