Ian
yeah.. this might be one of the best model runs we've seen all year since it's closeish now we just need to hold
TUweathermanDD
this is a nice run overall I like the cold shot, comes with that wave that has been modeled for a few runs around the d10, after that its any mans guess and at the end even though we have a OV/NE track the pattern behind it is decent. Not to mention those soundings ain't bad at all, DCA?

TUweathermanDD
It is silver spring..the 84 hr and 90hr sounding are frozen...either sleet or snow Ahh SS okay good, I like. Also like the later wave that came north on 0z, not really anything to pick it up N but it could be close for 95 around here. Profiles good with that timeframe. I mean probably unlikely, but we'd all be going nuts for sure.

TUweathermanDD
Of course there goes the GGEM, long duration of precip with the two wave set-up, its bullish on the wave that the GFS takes just s of us around 108. Note: I know its the GGEM, and has a 90% probability of being wrong, just running it by now that Matt has become aware of SN+ potential

I think for the usual spots a real thump...looks wintry mixy for me...I am not taking it too literally but this is not some anemic easterly winder...so i am certainly going to pay attention...It is mid January...sh-it like this can happen...someone can get a couple/few quick inches from a random event

You'd even get thumped, but BWI over to Kenny look good via this run in particular. It is pretty QPF loaded relatively speaking, so not a sleeper by any means. Deck Pic
Prep the sandbags? I think anything is worth paying attention to when you have a bubble of high pressure to our WNW where we usually have a 952mb low

Ji
I'd been watching this for a while as many of gfs ensemble members had this scenario while the op was amped and warm but hard to believe it would happen 2 days after hiiting
