very interesting:

UPTON

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/...

HOISTED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR NYC/SOUTHERN WESTCHESTER

COUNTY AND THE REST OF NORTHEAST NJ. TEMPS ARE RUNNING COLDER AND

DRIER THAN EXPECTED...ANY PRECIP THAT DOES FALL WOULD RESULT IN

EVAPORATIONAL COOLING...THAT WOULD KEEP TEMPS BELOW FREEZING.

THINK THIS WOULD THEN RESULT IN SNOW ACROSS THE REGION INITIALLY.

A QUICK 1-3" SNOW LIKELY THEN FOR THE AREAS ADDED...AND ALTHOUGH

1-3" IS LOWER THAN THE 3" AVERAGE GENERALLY NEEDED FOR A WINTER

WEATHER ADVISORY...IT WILL BE ISSUED BASED ON IMPACT...AS THE SNOW

WILL FALL DURING THE EVENING COMMUTE.

LEFT SOUTHERN FAIRFIELD AND NASSAU COUNTIES OUT OF THE WINTER WX

ADV AS TEMPS SHOULD REBOUND TO ABOVE FREEZING BY THE TIME THE

PRECIP ARRIVES...AND NOT EXPECTING AS MUCH ACCUMULATING SNOW

THERE.

MODERATE TO LOCALLY HEAVY SNOW STILL FORECAST FOR NW ZONES. SNOW

ACCUMULATIONS MAY BE INCREASED BY 1-2" BASED ON LATEST TRENDS.

LOWERED TEMPS FOR THE REST OF THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING BASED ON

THIS TREND.

ONE OTHER ASPECT OF NOTE IS THAT IT APPEARS AS IF THE STORM IS

DEVELOPING A BIT FARTHER EAST THAN ORIGINALLY EXPECTED. IF THIS

TREND CONTINUES...THE STRONGER WINDS WOULD SHIFT EAST...AND THE

IMPACT FROM THE WINDS AND COASTAL FLOODING WOULD BE A BIT LESS

THAN ORIGINALLY EXPECTED. NO CHANGES WILL BE MADE BASED ON

THIS...IT IS JUST AN EARLY TREND WE ARE BEGINNING TO NOTICE.

FORECAST REMAINS UNTIL THERE IS STRONG ENOUGH EVIDENCE TO CHANGE

IT.

Was snowing extremely hard in Jersey City,NJ. Mod-Heavy snow right now sticking to all surfaces. Slushy coating on streets

I'm at Harborside at work and can't say we had heavy snow at any point today. Snow was falling for awhile but it was light and everything is just wet not white here.
