I haven't been out to measure yet, but I stuck the ruler in out the door in two spots and had 6" and 4". So, unofficially it looks like about 5" here, which is a bit of a bust. I was expecting more out of the front end. We started mixing with sleet around 3:30 - 4 AM, but never made a complete transition to sleet as the warm layer is very marginal and thin.

As of now, I've got a 50/50 mix of pellets and parachutes. I'm hoping that once and if the deformation features solidifies over m

e I can switch back to all parachutes and rip for a while.

Sorry to hear--I was wondering when you were going to chime in with your observations. Hopefully you'll clean ups ome today.

It's INSANITY snow here for the last half hour. Huge aggregates, vis down to about 1000'. Temps continues to tick upward (28.0/27), but I'm beginning to hope that all taint is done. I might make 12" afterall (but I won't celebrate yet).

Sounds like large aggregates. I love those, but of course that means the mix line is precariously close.

This is my third or fourth round of huge flakes--so I'm taking that 'precaiourly close' comment with a grain of salt--at least this time around. :)

Just had a tremendous roof slide--the wonderful sounds of winter! Hope I didn't lose any slates.

Back out to enjoy the storm.

I wonder if this is one of those rare times when you and I are dumping and Pete is pinging?

SN+ right now, this band means business. No valley shadow with this storm, at least up here.

Congrats, Chris!!! This is really performing nicely. A few pingers mixing in around 4:00-4:45. Other than that, last nighit it was champagne powder. Today, jsut a really nice dry snow. Time to play! Measurements will be taken/reported per guidelines. (eyeballing, looks like 1.5+ in the last hour and a half).

I have to give the NWS credit as their forecast here was quite accurate. We got 5" of snow, the upper limit of the 3-5" forecast, but snow changed to sleet/rain at midnight, just as predicted and temps rose above freezing here at 2am, again as predicted. Right now it's cloudy and 35F, so I don't know if it will get to 41F or not today as forecast.

They did a fantastic job as well as some other outlets that had tempered amounts in coastal and other locations. Congrats on the snow and lets hope we get some more on Saturday night.
