My station in Union is reading 34/34 attm with a wet bulb of 34.

How much did you have before the change over? I had 4.2"....what a mess out there with the wind & rain!

5 inches..Yeah it's just an icy sloppy mess...Just finished shovelling.

We've got plenty more coming this weekend to further deepen the snowpack

About 1 inch of snow/sleet fell in Methuen before the change took place. As I wrote yesterday I had 3 concerns with this storm.....the strong winds off the"warm" ocean....the air mass in place....and the projected track of the storm. All 3 of those combined do not spell out s-n-o-w -s-t-o-r-m for eastern MA.

I miss Walt Drag's strom discussions!! One of the best in my humble opinion.

I'm with you here, brother. We'll see how much crow to eat come verification.

The radar is looking better and we could be surprised on the upside today with some heavy snow. Interesting the GYX has not back off at all.

My "forecasting" isn't really forecasting obviously....but if I'm eating crow, I'm enjoying the crowd I'm having dinner with. I think Paul Kocin would be at that table since he is forecasting at HPC now.

This game ain't over though so no spiking the ball at an underperformed! 8 inches to verification for me!

SN+ right now. Greenfield is right on the line. between 6"- 7" otg. 29/28

Congrats! Visibility is less than 1000' here at the Pit. While I like watching snow under the lights at night, you really can't assess severity well.

Keep the faith, Eric. I think you'll have some good surprises yet!!

SN+, 26.6/26

Well judging by how hard it was raining on my way in to work i think you have hours of snow left.

Well, we ended up just short of 4" with this one. Terrible luck that somehow northern CT beat my total in this one. I hope MHT can pull off a few more inches, anyone know if it's snowing in Merrimack NH? I said at least 8 in Merrimack which will bust although if Sandown has 6.5 that's not too bad.

Well Nashua is and they are getting heavy wet stuff so it might turn over soon.

Well this is obviously a big disappointment so far, although the radar is looking a bit better.

But which weenies are you referring to? The ones at GYX BOS or HPC? Yes this weenie here said 12-18 2 or 3 days ago and lollies to 20, then lollies to 24 (in the favored foothill areas) yesterday. This was only because of 3 days of model runs of 1.5-2 qpf in our general area and an HPC map that had a strong coastal storm every day for 7 days. Also a highly anomalous easterly jet. The numbers I mentioned were matched by GYX BOS and HPC.

You know a lot about this stuff and were clearly conservative, but you are almost very conservative. Your conservatism though is based on knowledge and was warranted. I don't pretend to know much....but this wasn't a weenie fail, this was a fail by many experienced pros (although it ain't over).

great post and it aint over

They should be fine still. Im in Windham and its been flipping back and forth. Coastal front just barely made it to me by like 5 miles. Ive since dropped from 34 to to 32, front is sagging back south a bit.
