You're wrong about the dry slotting. Period. There's no arrogance about it. Get off your ignorance wagon and stop perpetuating bs, and shut the f up -

Then please feel free to argue with EVERY television meteorologist, radio personality, whatever, who tells the general public it is a DRY SLOT. It may not be the correct or proper term, and yes, we media folk might be wrong in our terminology, but it's what the public understands. People that get fired up about this stuff take life way too seriously.

LOL, one of the quirks of living this far "downstream" is that I often see the dejected SNE "next" posts just as things are getting going here. Anyway -- 26,7, SN picking up.

You're going to get raked later tonight. It's kind of weird, the forum can be really bipolar. Look forward to your reports later tonight/morning.

Why don't we just wait and see how much additional accumulation results from it.

I don't think it's going to be that much....the stuff south of LI looks rather broken up in individual cells. I think the big totals are going to be in the deformation banding across western and northern NY State, which should pivot into NNE and Quebec tomorrow.

LOL Kind of? It's material for a doctoral in human psychology.

I love snow, I'm thirilled to be getting hammered right now and I hope the coast can cash in this weekend.

Sorry I pulled your name out as an example - probably not a good idea, but we have not dry slotted synoptically ... yet anyway. It's been bothering me that's been bandied about and it's not just improper - it's wrong, both factually and theoretically. There's no high horse attitude about it!

Will, where do you think the rain/snow line ends up?

North of me...lol. When is the question. If I can last until 09z-10z, then I will put up a pretty solid total...if it goes at 07z, then I'm prob gonna end up with 5".

TBH, as far as my personal love of snow I'm fine with 4" instead of 8-10". The reason busts anger me now is the meteorological prediction aspect...I want us to get it right. When I tell my family 12" and they get 6" or less, I hate that. I know it isn't perfect but I hate being way off.
