OKpowdah
Getting bigger flakes mixing in within the shredded radar. Intensity obviously down, but it's just nice to see some larger flakes lol
weatherMA
At this point I'm almost ready to call it a night but the weenie in me wants to stay up and see what happens with this thing good or bad. F*** it. Stay up.
SnowlieSnowstormson
You're wrong about the dry slotting. Period. There's no arrogance about it. Get off your ignorance wagon and stop perpetuating bs, and shut the f up -

40/70 Benchmark
No there isn't ... redevelopment doesn't happen in dry slot synoptics - come on! Why don't we just wait and see how much additional accumulation results from it.
eekuasepinniW
That dryslot is racing north.
Typhoon Tip
Lol...well we have lulls in the WCB stuff right now...but I think its going to keep filling in rapidly over the next 2 hours. The true dryslot is over E PA right now. Thank you! ha - go tell that to that Patsrule417 guy - I hate it when you come to the table with education and you get high horse. christ -
Clinch Leatherwood
LOL, one of the quirks of living this far "downstream" is that I often see the dejected SNE "next" posts just as things are getting going here. Anyway -- 26,7, SN picking up. You're going to get raked later tonight. It's kind of weird, the forum can be really bipolar. Look forward to your reports later tonight/morning. HIPPYVALLEY
28/27 Down a degree past half hour. If that stuff over LI & S holds together I think we can rock out. Already more than halfway to meeting the WSW criteria.
Bostonseminole
how is that new heavier batch looking in boston? snow or rain?
nzucker
Why don't we just wait and see how much additional accumulation results from it. I don't think it's going to be that much....the stuff south of LI looks rather broken up in individual cells. I think the big totals are going to be in the deformation banding across western and northern NY State, which should pivot into NNE and Quebec tomorrow. 40/70 Benchmark
worth me staying up for? still cold enough I guess. I bottomed out at 32.0, back up to 32.1/31 Between 1.25 and 1.5"...tapering off a bit...

Had great snow growth for the past 30min but smaller flakes again. yep, ~4.2" with little snow growth. nice to be white. let's see where the night goes. things are good. OKpowdah
Sorry, it's a bad habit too that's hard to break sometimes lol. But it really shouldn't be called a dry slot. Lull, break, gap, shredded wheat, whatever ... but it's not the dry slot

I love snow, I'm thirilled to be getting hammered right now and I hope the coast can cash in this weekend.
DavisStraight
There is pretty good development going on south of LI right now...the race is on for the interior and those latitudes that can support snow between now and 09z for SNE. Will, where do you think the rain/snow line ends up?

People that get fired up about this stuff take life way too seriously. Sorry I pulled your name out as an example - probably not a good idea, but we have not dry slotted synoptically ... yet anyway. It's been bothering me that's been bandied about and it's not just improper - it's wrong, both factually and theoretically. There's no high horse attitude about it! dryslot
A lot of heavier echoes developing to the east of LI that's moving up to the north in association with the developing LP
ORH_wxman
Will, where do you think the rain/snow line ends up? North of me...lol. When is the question. If I can last until 09z-10z, then I will put up a pretty solid total...if it goes at 07z, then I'm prob gonna end up with 5".
DomNH
Still coming down at a halfway decent clip. I'll wait up for a while and see what that stuff in LI does but otherwise any dreams of double digits are down the toilet.

I love snow, I'm thirilled to be getting hammered right now and I hope the coast can cash is this weekend. TBH, as far as my personal love of snow I'm fine with 4" instead of 8-10". The reason busts anger me now is the meteorological prediction aspect...I want us to get it right. When I tell my family 12" and they get 6" or less, I hate that. I know it isn't perfect but I hate being way off.

SlantStickers Anonymous
Heavy windswept rain at my place, but took a drive to west Peabody and everything including roads is covered in a good layer of slush, made for some fun driving.
