Great Snow 1717
I'm not sure why the media outlets are just ripping puffs from the NAM bong. I think he feels the strong wind off the water is going to be the difference maker for most of SNE. I don't think we can discount how strong the wind is going to be. weatherMA
I'm not sure why the media outlets are just ripping puffs from the NAM bong. Every single one has 2-4" for you..actually one had 1-3"...I just don't get it. This is already over performing as far as snow to our south. I mean some maps from NH/ME outlets have 1-2" or nothing for us...even Noyes who is usually bullish has 4"'. This is just odd.
dryslot
It's official. I'm hitting the highway to the foothills of Maine. Just got off the phone with my buddy who lives in Naples right by long lake. ECSTATIC Smart chioce

TheSnowman
So is the NAM basically the Warm outlier as per usual? Where the GGEM, Euro, and GFS are showing the H85 getting stuck at the Hartford - PVD line for a long while before heading north. Damn Nam. That rhymes. CoastalWx
Well, lets see if this high does its dirty work. It's function mostly to drain low dews into SNE to help with the boundary layer. Because of places like SW CT and NE winds, that wind direction is still off the land...so they may get a decent thump.

Typhoon Tip
Funny now cast coming for NYC... Currently, where the advisory landscape is hold up shy of the city ... the temp and DP are 34/25, with rad indicating a wall of heavy snow is about to commence. That's very true here-we do alot better than south central or south east CT shoreline. With that said, who knows...I did have my wife take the SUV to work today anticipating at least a thump of snow to start the event. 32/20 here, so we do have the cold dry air in place to start
Boston-winter08
I'm not sure why the media outlets are just ripping puffs from the NAM bong. nowadays, they all ride the WSI RPM (which looks to have a similar output to the NAM based on what I've seen)

weatherMA
I'd say you Will are closer to 9/10, I am thinking (possibly) 6 here for me and I am 25 miles south of you. The pingers are going to turn into stingers with this wind Certainly possible...I think some of the 2-4" forecasts on TV are scaring me. I went 6-10" here which leaves room as I highly doubt we exceed 10". I think thats a good/reasonable forecast for our area. Depending on how far NW the CF gets, maybe we can get a little enhancement from that? Should be interesting to see if we can stay under 32 as well Yeah, the CF might get a little bit further NW then we normally see? I think we make it to 33-34...but the TV forecasts of rain by 3am aren't going to work out either IMO. Crack is a terrible drug. LOL, you're cracking me up this morning. One of those maps from Maine would extrapolate to tr-2" IMBY.

NJwinter23
CT river valley doing its dirty work keeping the due north wind component and draining those cold dews south...This is gonna be my first true marginal event out of sw CT so I am interested to see how it plays out. Any snow I do see will almost certainly be a bonus from if I were down in Central NJ near the coast.
