MJO812
Upton just issued a WWA for NYC. 1-3 inches of snow. If this is things to come, this storm is looking pretty good for SNE and NNE.
CT Rain
I'm thinking Springfield/Northampton may get a real good thumping. I know the TV mets are going like 1-3 there but this kind of event where you're just ripping snow from strong warm advection... plus great dendritic growth... should allow them to go to town. ChrisM
Coast should rip some good gusts. Nothing more fun than ripping mangled flakes with a 50 knot gust for shore dwellers. I don't know what I'm more stoked about... the snowstorm or the skiing. Paul and my friends are probably going to absolutely kill me tonight with my weather geek out fest. Heavy heavy "Is Ryan still here?"
CT Rain
I have been looking at downstream obs in between splitting wood, I really think some are in for a pretty big surprise. I agree. Front end thump moves in like a wall and boy the globals are really cold. Think SWFE for the first part and then when CT/RI dry slot the fun continues NW of ORH in NNE. Ginx snewx
Ossipee may work best. My friend had a place in Wakefield near there but it takes some work to get the winter mode working and it's on a dirt road...could take an extra day to leave so I'll opt for a town location somewhere. Lakes region....Sanford, fryeburg, ossipee.... A member like Hunchie should open his house to you. I think he gets crushed.

Buddy1987
you know what is interesting if perhaps telling also is that the high country of W VA and western areas of VA, are having trouble staying rain; according to intellicast's p-type algorithms. That region of the cyclone is actually about to enter the 700mb dry slot properly, having never really warmed very much. You are absolutely right in Roanoke we never fully switched over to rain at least not the part of the county I live in. As the back end rolled through we switched completely to a heavy half hour bout of sleet that covered roads and everything and then switched to parachute flakes as it ended. I have a real good feeling for you guys up there. Miss NW CT.

I'd say you Will are closer to 9/10, I am thinking (possibly) 6 here for me and I am 25 miles south of you. snowman21
Latest and pretty much final thoughts. Here are a few numbers I am tossing around: KBOS: 1" KBDL: 5" KORH: 8" KPSF: 10" KHVN: 1" Nice map. I can tell what part of the Conn. shoreline you're from since you actually get that SE CT gradient right.

flatearth13
FWIW, in northern baltimore county, MD, overnight fcst was for sleet/frz rain to rain. It is presently 30.6 deg and has been all snow since 9:30 after a start of sleet/snow. Radar shows this may end soon, but the point is we arecolder throughout the layer than had been forecast.
