I am a half hour from landing, yea I know a friend of mine had to pay 2000 for a room because there is a 4 night minimum at the hotel's but he only needed a room tonight. Hank Scorpio
if I had the choice between days and days of light snow that didn't amount to much and days and days of light rain and drizzle, I take the snow every time. That being said, it sure would be nice to get a soild storm that dropped 4+ inches area wide. Once we hit March though, I'll be ready for the warmth

Yea I saw they shut down a lot of downtown and closed the JFX below 28th street. The party on Bourbon street was just as crazy, plus the eye candy cannot be beat . Amped
Book it. Storm of the year tonight. I might get 1.3". 1.3" in 1 event? DCA needed 6 events to get 1.3" this year. Edit: now that I think about it that really is hilarious. Every year you can find some odd thing that has never happened before. 6 seperate days between .0.1 and 0.4 is quite unusual. Wasn't an event supposed to be like 2-4" lol?

EastCoast NPZ
If it isn't windy, it doesn't feel cold when snow is falling. (IMO) Any thoughts to why 28 and snow feels warmer than 28 and no snow? My theory is that the flakes provide a little insulation by reflecting the IR escaping your body. The same effect, but muted of course, as digging a shelter in a snow bank. The fact that so many people report this phenomenon leads me to suspect it's not simply a matter of perception.
