let's spread some love beyond the NWS....CWG has their unfortunate forecast for highs struggling through the 40s next to the realtime temperature map showing widespread upper 60s/lower 70s...

yeah.. true. they even hedged down from my update yesterday. :(

Highs should head for 50 or higher. It’s a bit tricky to say how high, as there is some indication they’ll push well into the 50s or even near 60. For now, it’s probably safest to go with near 50 to mid-50s. Just don’t be surprised if it’s on the warm side of that.

i guess for every wedge that hangs around too long....it's nice to finally see one give up so easily...

Yeah, it's pretty unusual for those of us in northern Maryland to see a wedge like this lift out in time before the next cold front pushes through.  Usually, we're in fog/clouds/drizzle while places south of DC and west of the mountains are sunny and warmer.

We get this warmth (and some) at least 8 out of 12 months.......not sure why it's such a big deal.

It is Jan. and some are looking for snow or at least weather that simulated winter.

Not a huge outpouring of dismay about today.

Fatigue sets it when desperately seeking signs of just a marginal event.

It was a good respite.
