EastCoast NPZ
68F. Almost more incredible is a 54F dewpoint. In January? On the plus side, for the first time in a week my skin doesn't feel like it's going to split apart anytime I move, and I'm not constantly getting bug-zapped by everything I touch. MN Transplant
The 68 at IAD would have been good for a record high on 14 of the 31 January days. Just so happens that today's record of 75 is also the monthly record.
PrinceFrederickWx
You all need to convert from snow weenies to heat record weenies like I did last year. Its much more enjoyable and you are rarely disappointed.

Highs should head for 50 or higher. It’s a bit tricky to say how high, as there is some indication they’ll push well into the 50s or even near 60. For now, it’s probably safest to go with near 50 to mid-50s. Just don’t be surprised if it’s on the warm side of that. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/capital-weather-gang/post/pm-update-a-few-showers-possible-into-tonight-also-a-bit-of-fog/2013/01/28/767a834c-6992-11e2-af53-7b2b2a7510a8_blog.html

WxUSAF
We have to scratch and beg and pull the PV over southern Ontario to get a couple days of -15 departures, but we can fall assbackwards into a +25 day because it got sunnier than expected Default is always warm. Yeah, it's pretty unusual for those of us in northern Maryland to see a wedge like this lift out in time before the next cold front pushes through. Usually, we're in fog/clouds/drizzle while places south of DC and west of the mountains are sunny and warmer.

usedtobe
The baby got to meet some of our neighbors today. Great walking weather! It was an awesome day. I played golf in a tee shirt and was sweating some. I love snow but if I'm not gonna get it, I certainly would opt for this over a cold cloudy day. Bob Chill
I'm not gonna fake it and say I would prefer snow and cold ALL the time......I had a great afternoon outside in shorts and a t-shirt. clueless
We get this warmth (and some) at least 8 out of 12 months.......not sure why it's such a big deal. It is Jan. and some are looking for snow or at least weather that simulated winter. Not a huge outpouring of dismay about today. Fatigue sets it when desperately seeking signs of just a marginal event. It was a good respite.
