mattie g
disappointment has been dominating for so long now that it's become normal and i don't even feel it anymore. so there's the silver lining. No worries about melting on Saturday. That's good news, too.
mappy
Bring on the f'ing sunshine. It's been a week since we've seen the sun here, so I'm really looking forward to sunshine tomorrow and Saturday. Unless, of course, the forecasts bust on sun again. I've seen the sun today

North Balti Zen
Can confirm some breaks in the clouds and blue sky from my northward facing office in downtown Balt City. As for the greater lolz of this system and this on-going eff you in terms of snow to our area....2/3 of NC and around 3/4 of Va is under a winter storm warning. Just amazing to look at the warning map for the region and see us once again shut out. I laugh to keep from crying. Or I laugh while crying. Bob Chill
In other news....AO is looking to go positive, NAO looks to be ineffective, MJO is going to die in phase 7, pna is set to go negative, and storm track is looking to head back west down the road. It just doesn't get any better than that.

WinterWxLuvr
So the PV squashes the storm, yet many areas are going to top 45 degrees. Now we can be screwed by a northern stream that somehow doesn't even have cold air with it. In the middle of JANUARY. 6 more weeks, come on. Please. WinterWxLuvr
Your optimism seems to be waning. No, I just find it humorous watching us find new and improved ways to escape winter weather. Give me high pressure over NE, and storms in the Ohio Valley. Those don't work well for some in our region, but they work just fine for the Shen Valley. We either get Dec 26, or ice. I'll take either over partly cloudy and temps at 40. Nothing bugs me more than to be shutout on precip.

mattie g
Looking at current surface obs and the forecasts by the RAP in the next 10-12 hours, I'd think there's at least a small chance of a pretty big snowfall bust. Other thoughts? Apologies to those who are supposed to get snow with this, but if I'm not going to get anything I'd feel a little better if this busted everywhere. Immature, I know, but that's just kinda how I am.
