Chicago WX
I don't know if I trust the precip obs when it's this windy...I mean look what happened earlier in IA. Yeah, maybe. BMI and PNT reporting mix too, though BMI is at 1/2 visibility with that "mix". EDIT: looks like a frozen sensor or something at BMI.
Nelson
The latest.... Wind are howling. I've never experienced a tornado but I have to think there are some similarities to what I'm hearing outside

kevlon62
Nice gusts going out there but not sure about anything too crazy. Wbbm amd wgn news trucks are on the Square for remotes. Picturesque to be sure but all in all a relatively tame scene. Might go up in a bit to build a little snowman for the cameras.
Hoosier
A couple damaging wind reports trickling in from the southern/western LOT cwa. This should spread northeast in the coming hours.
blue60007
Champaign is rocking...pretty impressive to be sustained above 45 mph CHAMPAIGN MIX PCPN 31 28 89 W46G56 I question how far east that will make it. RAP seems to want to keep the strongest pocket of winds in illinois.
Geos
That's quite the scene Andy! Wouldn't want to sit out on the deck or grill out there tonight! --- Do it Kevlon! Is there enough for a small one at least?

Nelson
The grill must weigh a ton by now For sure - not gonna touch it. Drifts are up to deck level back there. I went out in the yard and there some drifts approaching my chest...

B-Rent
Very nice photos Jonbo. Officially a thin slushy coating on my car. Snow has left the building though. I thought that was JoMo the first time I saw it. Was wondering how I missed that happening. Had friends all reporting nice snow squalls and such on the FB. I look outside and see nothing after dinner. So I come upstairs look at 2 hours of a loop.... No bands over me at all during the whole time. N, E, S, W, all had nice bands pass over, just a big screw hole here. I blame Tim.

I cannot believe they issued a WSW! amazing turned out to be a bad call...even the most robust model runs over the last 48 hrs only had 5" or so at ORD with most in the 1-2" range. My bad, but I'll take it. In other good news, temp on the rise at LAF. Up to 36º after dipping down to 32º at 7:39pm. It'd be totally awesome if the bands in IL make it here intact...and we rain. My T call for LAF is golden.
Fickle Heights
Nice coating of wet snow on grass, starting to stick on the road too. Wind is plastering it on all the trees. Good enough for me. I'm really interested to see what those winds in Champaign will be like here.
daddylonglegs
Justin- Same here...but i bet yours has a lot more moisture in it...
