jjvesnow
Just north of the city and nw nj could have a nice storm from this....maybe an inch or so from rt.78 north... North and West of the city definitely see a front end thump according to the GFS then a period of sleet/freezing rain before dryslotted? Some places may never get above freezing north and west of rt 287 (sussex county).

jjvesnow
Like I said.. I've seen this story a million times. Highly doubt areas here ( Sussex, Orange counties) get above freezing Yeah! Just kind of seems like one of those situations where we get a quick thump of heavy snow then get dryslotted and are left with drizzle/freezing drizzle. Maybe we can get lucky and get this thing to move even further south and east. Keep us from getting dryslotted. Looks to happen at night though. Which stinks because i would like to watch this whole thing evolve.

jm1220
Strong east to southeast winds look like a possibility with this once again for coastal areas (NAM shows a brief window of 40kt+), so flooding could be a concern for places hit hard for Sandy. Full moon again also. Looks like it will be a "North and west storm", which we haven't seen many of for a while. Just not enough cold air and poor track for the coast. sferic
Well, here's hoping we get one to two inches here in Liberty NY tonight, down from last night's 2-4 inch prediction. Midweeks hopes getting higher for 6 inches or more and of course the possibility of an event this weekend here. Quincy, what did those crazy Catksill maps show?
